No, there was talk of it happening, but the car was sold for hard cash I believe.

^Guilty as charged, but you may not have seen the last of it. But I'm still enjoying it too much for the moment...

So... I can't sell it and I cant even roffle it..... nothing else for it but to break it for parts....... if anyone needs any bits or wants the whole car let me know.... as i have been looking at cheap poxhall astras of MK3 vintage and thinking about a Saab engine transplant please talk me out of this ... I have a vanden plas to fix and MrsD is already giving me jip about the car count so buying another one would probably result in a complete gentlemans veg loss..........

So,  This is a perfectly good car? It does seem a shame.

Have you not thought of reducing the price?

Yes it does seem a shame...

what would you suggest would be a fair price???

bearing in mind there is an easy £500 in parts on the car and I am asking £450 and have not even had one offer.....

£300 ???

£200 ???

£100 ???

Exactly how much would you like me to lose ???

Whoa! I didn't make the comment to rub you up the wrong way.

And you didn't, as you suggested reducing the price I only asked what you thought a fair price was bearing in mind the value of the parts ???

Unfortunately the amount of money in parts you sink into a car has little bearing on its resale value . This isn't a dig btw .

I haven't sunk any money into it in parts except for two new tyres....

Lets do a little list....

engine and ancillaries ecu etc for transplant... £300 ish

electrical stuff radio cd player sid  abs pump etc ......£100

window winders headlights wing mirrors etc.....£100

and that's without the tyres suspension blah blah...

If you do decide to break it, what sort of ballpark would you want for the wheels and tyres? I've googled and they seem to be the same as my 2004 9-3 and I could do with a spare set. Ideally all 5...

I appreciate that if you're breaking it then these would be virtually the last things to go, but I'm not in a rush.

Edit to add - is it a Garrett T25 turbot in this gen of 9-3? if its a GT2052 then I'd be very interested in that too, but again this will immobilise it so happy to wait.

What colour is the drivers side kickplate, and are the clips working?  Mine's held in with velcro of all things!
