Is the Suzuki "Swift" definately a Swift? Looks like an earlier SA310 to me....

Yup, one of your old brochures confirms that. Looks it didn't become Swift until it got the sloped headlamps. AJ, don't think ones like you've posted lasted that long so good spot there!I think that HA picture is great, it could be 20-30 years ago with the original garage doors, no plastic windows or satellite dishes.

Yes you`re both right it`s a SA310.This shape launched in the UK Feb 84 until 1986-92 Swift became available so a fairly short-lived model.

Here are this weeks spottings.Firstly an Allegro 1.3HLS with twin headlamps,a Cortina mk3 at the bootsale, an N12 Cherry 1.5GL Auto at church and a Mitsibushi Colt and Renault 9 in the Tesco carpark.In my enthusiasm i managed to cut the roof off of the Colt. Never normally see anything interesting at the Tesco carpark.I suspose shite owners still have to eat!

My ten year son is keeping a discreet distance in the rear picture of the Colt.I think he might have been mildly embarassed by me taking pictures in the Tesco carpark.

No 'Fish FM' but I have National Trust, RSPB and a preserved railway's stickers on my Skoda Felicia. Imagine what sort of picture that little package paints

Certainly did BS6 - Mine did, it had two sticks - one for 4 fwd & 1 reverse gears & t'other marked 'Power' & 'Economy'!

Ratdat (who I haven't see here for a bit) has a bright green Colt 3dr like that. The dual range gearbox lived on into the Tredia and Cordia, making them even more desirable.The Cherry is great, nice early one too. 1.5GL must mean it's an auto.The R9 is good too.

Hmmm... Thought that CX was a Turbo 2 for a minute, but it looks like it's had a bonnet replacement at some point so it's probably just a boggo 22TRS or summat. Still cool though, like any CX.

That Daihatsu 850 is a gem, amazing to see that there is still one on the roads. Looks like the road tax is nearly up too.....I was thinking exactly the same about Carltons, as Omegas seem to be the council house car of choice these days.

WOW! A Diahatsu 55 Wide! I remember Diahatsu having a display in our local precinct with a 55 Wide, it's 55 inches wide you see! I often and to this day wondered why they called it a 55 Wide as they don't use inches in Japan, they couldn't import them into the US because of crash regs so they must've been targeting the Brits. Of course I never saw one again, until now! I'd like it please, if you see it again pop a note on it would you?

CRIKEY at the Daihatsu van. Remember when I said the S65 generation of Hijet was incredibly rare now? Well, that generation shown above is probably ten times rarer.I would not be at all surprised if it is the last registered one in the UK, to be honest I'm more surprised at least one remains!TOP WORK.

I do like those Hi-aces, possibly a Westfalia. Quite a reasonable proportion seemed to have survived, no doubt due to hoards of silvertops clinging on to them.

From a distance i thought this was a Fiat 500 estate but on closer inspection i realised it was an Auto Biancha, not sure what model.I bet the handling is interesting judging by the angle of those rear wheels.

I absolutely love that Autobianchi, it's a Bianchina Panoramica afaik, I don't know exactly... I think the rear wheels adjust once there's some weight in the car, though the driving experience is probably still interesting (I guess quick cornering is a no no).
