What's the worst selling point you've heard of by a car maker?

I think this was more of a thing in contempory Italian media than a tag line by an ad agency, but when the alfa 6 was launched in the mid 70s the Italian media made a virtue of its understated/ bland styling being a good counter to the recent high profile kidnappings.

Slightly off topic - Remember those endless TV ads for Vauxhall Astras with panoramic windscreens?

I have never seen one, were they just pretend to make Astras interesting for TV or were they an extra £5k and a years wait?

I forgot they'd done those. I liked it in my C3, but then it wasn't an extra so to speak, was just how anything other than the very basic ones were built. Don't think I've ever seen a Vauxhall with one.

In-car fax in the Volvo S80.

If I'm such an important businessman that I need the outdated concept of a fax machine in the early 2000s, I don't want a FWD Volvo.

(of course, now I'd be dead excited to find one with it fitted).
