Blaupunkt radio wiringshite

After flogging the corsa I decided to treat myself to this bit of tasty early nineties kit for a tenner from one of Kirkcaldy's finest charity shops.

However it came with the butchered wiring below. Anyone know what the main positive and neg wires are?

I tried plugging it into the standard plugs in the calibra which fit, but it didn't come on.. There's only the 2 ISO style plugs in the calibra whereas this has a third larger plug too.

Help!

Iirc the 3rd plug is for a blaupunkt amp. It should function perfectly well on just the 2 iso plugs.

I'll post the wiring diagram when I get home. The ignition, live and lighting feeds are often swapped around in OEM installations.

Red or yellow will likely be +12v, then how you connect them depends on whether you'll want the radio on independently of the ignition.

If its in a corsa, dont you need the iso convertor?

May inly be on the c, earljer ones may be nice and normal though.

Ive got one for a kenwood and sony if you need it for postage? Fed up with people picking it up at the cb, opening it all, asking what it is then leaving me to pack it all back up when they decide they dont want it...

I can't find the manual for mine, but Blaupunkt have manuals on their website- Installation http://www.blaupunkt.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Service/SERVICEDOKU_ZIEL/EA/GB/7643795510001_EA_GB.pdfand Operation http://www.blaupunkt.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Service/SERVICEDOKU_ZIEL/BA/GB/7643795510001_BA_GB.pdf

It looks like a bit of an arse to follow but the information you need should be there.

It lives! No dead pixels either - bonus.

Annoyingly though it won't work without a "keycard". I thought that's what the orange tongue bit was but that's just the tray to slide it in. Keycard ain't with it!

I'll look into the keycard malarkey. Thanks for the help all!

If you can't get a keycard for it Blaupunkt still do some lovely units new which look good in 90s Chod and if you buy one from eBay Germany a decent spec one can be had for about £50 to £60

I've been there done that and bought the t shirt when it comes to buying cheap second hand head units and I always seem to have issues with them..post-9282-0-95373200-1441747185_thumb.jpgpost-9282-0-02888500-1441747248_thumb.jpg

I bought a Blaupunkt Brisbane for my Z3 which has Bluetooth for the phone plus is iPod compatible and the sound quality is fantastic and the buttons have a really good quality feel to them..

I was so impressed with the stereo that I bought another one identical for my E36. Then bought another for my fathers car except I went old school with his as his also has the CD slot..

Generally with Blaupunkts these days it works out that higher the number the better the spec.. So if you go 200 or above you should get something with all the gadgets..

Found a place online that will send me a keycard for 20 quid. Costing me £30 all in I'm happy enough.

Googling reveals it was quite a high end unit in its day so hopefully will sound good. These clowns want £495 for one the same as mine 😂😂😂

I've got one of those but older, with a keycard. There were only 4 or so, check you get the right one.

I like Blaupunkt stuff, the Panda had a factory Blaupunkt setup which sounded GR8, I didn't really appreciate this until I got rid of it and the speakers I have now sound like a wet fart.
