They've completely fucked up Grey Street now. Mostly pedestrianised and one way. Took them about 4 years to do the work too. I'm not even sure they've even finshed yet. It looks terrible now.

IIRC they were a family firm, under dad, but [early days of car leasing/fleet management 'as a thing'] did the business become a massive financial contract agent/metal mover 🤔

1922 High Level Bridge Newcastle. A horse drawn bus enters the bridge.

High Street Gosforth 1948. There is a tobacconists shop in the foreground to the right with offices and the Royalty Cinema beyond. The cinema was demolished 40 years ago.
