Kia Pride with mot and low miles

Roads were pretty terrible, so we just got in half an hour ago.  Bonus nail acquired in the tyre in Nuneaton whilst visiting friends, who fortunately had a 14mm socket to help me get the spare on.

10ppm, allegedly.  It's a hoot!

  :?

I wonder if that came from Embeltons garage in New Elvet?

They started selling these and Sao Penza's when Lancia moved out of the UK market.

The garage has been a trendy bar for a while now :(

I'm confused. That's not the Pride at the start of this thread!

Me too.

What's the connection?

I think he's saying he travelled hundreds of miles for the car and now another one has turned up on his doorstep. Happens to me all the time too.

Aaaaaah! That makes sense. I did wonder if that eBay advert could really be a product of a shiter, it being a little lacking. In everything.

The colour change is easily explained. It's like the two lasses in the Countach in Cannonball Run, with the water based paint. Dodgytom sells red car, loserone turns it blue to get away from the cops and then sells it to escape prison

That happens to me all the time - thought I was suffering alone with it.

500 miles in.

It's not drunk any water or burned any oil.  Halfway though the second tank of fuel, at £30 a tank.

The windscreen washer jet doesn't work, and it could really do with a new driver's wiper blade.

There's a nail in one of the tyres (and the spare looks like OE, though it's holding air for now).  Tyreleader are winning at £27 a corner for Toyos, but I might try to find some part worns.

There's a hole in the driver's floor, and another on the passenger sills, which someone with more skills than I will need to look at before I consider spending 'real' money on it, though I've ordered a starter which was posted today.  The exhaust is blowing a bit still, too.

I appear to be collecting high end late 80s Pioneer ICE for £0, so that might find it's way into the car soon.

Total cost so far:

Car: £250

VED: £12/month.

Insurance: £64 (and Admiral found 4 years NCB which they'd left down the back of the sofa somewhere)

Starter motor: £23.

All in all it's doing OK so far.  1500 miles to break even.

Prides are the fucking tits. I've done the best part of 3,000 miles in my V-reg 1.3SX and I can honestly say it is the best car I have ever owned. Comfy, surprisingly brisk, 50mpg in daily use, spacious... love it to bits.

Should have taken a picture tonight.  I thought I'd be cheeky and nip over to my 'rents in this for dinner - it now has a couple of much newer part worns on the back, but I haven't got round to annoying SoC about fitting the exhaust, so it's a bit loud and fumey.

Ended up with a box full of picture frames on the back seat, followed by another larger box containing a pizza oven.  We then went shopping, and opening the boot found it full of tools / axle stands / jack etc.

The drive home involved SWMBO sat in the passenger seat with a coolbag on her lap and about 6 bags of groceries in the footwell.

It's ace.

P.S. CMS, an SX! It has a REAR WIPER! </envy>

Since the last posts were lost in the great storm:

99p start.  Come and get it!  I'll end the auction early for serious offers.

Shameless 24 hours to go bump!

MOT till January, fresh timing belt and recent exhaust for (currently) less than eighty quid.  I'm not usually one to encourage alcohol abuse, but tonight's the night to drink too much and get trigger happy bidding fingers!

Might be better if you put a link on it's own rather than having the photo as a link.
