Event BMC/BL Day 2015

So it's that time of year again. We're heading off this afternoon to camp at Ferry Meadows before tomorrow BMC/BL day in the same applejack and Inca yellow Allegros as last year. Beige1100 will be in his white with red doors allegro estate.

I appear to have missed going to virtually every classic car event in the world this year. I don't understand why.

we will be attending this too, due to a change in plans we are going in the Rover 75 instead of the (planned) trip out in the Metro.

 

we are going down to visit some of Kerry's family afterwards so the Rover is more at home on the motorway than the wee metro, or the mini

I'll be going there in the morning, I'm not taking any of my cars though, I'll be going with a mate (Cortinaboy) in a stunning pre facelift Mk2 Granada 2.0 L, so keep an eye open for me.

Bloody brilliant day, I really love this show, these such a diverse selection of cars there, not just BL stuff either and a excellent autojumble.

 

I'll post my photos of the day tomorrow once I've gone through them all but this was the car i traveled up in, It's really made me want a MK2 Granada now!, It's just a really pleasant way to travel, it's only a 2.0 pinto in L spec with a Sierra 5 speed box fitted but it's only done 44000 miles and it's unrestored, It even has that new car smell still.

 

 

As for my bargain of the day, a Corsa soft top owner had a load of Jaguar XJS model for sale and in them was this Lada 1200 Radio!, For £5 it had to be bought, it was still new in the box and with all it's instructions and stickers.

 

 

I've been out and spent more money on a battery than the radio cost just so that i could check it, it's brillianttttt!

As tradition dictates, I missed this again because the car I could go in was in bits.  Having two BL-suitable vehicles doesn't, apparently, increase your odds of one of them being operational to attend.  Wonder what will cause the cars to be in bits next time?
