forddeliveryboy Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I thought this was a nicely-written article which should appeal to most of us on here - even though it's a Bavarian Car Works machine. I think Alex Robbins is suggesting that modern stuff has become idiot-proof and in the process has lost its beauty and works best for idiots. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/columnists/alex-robbins/classic-vs-modern/
320touring Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I have just tweeted said chap to say good job-i like the balanced approach to review:) that and an e24 *swoons*

Junkman Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 When he writes new cars are shit and old ones are good, he is congratulated for a good job.I'm doing this since 1986 and all I get is being called a backward giffer who refuses to accept "progress". cms206, Sloth in a bowl, Lacquer Peel and 4 others 7
forddeliveryboy Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Shall we all tweet you to say you're ahead of your time?

Junkman Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 There hasn't been any progress since the WC was invented. ShiteRider 1
320touring Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 There hasn't been any progress since the WC was invented.thats a load of crap;) Justin Case and NorfolkNWeigh 2
NorfolkNWeigh Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I don't think I'm doing this right, but. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201504252918052?page=1&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&sort=atcustom&radius=1500&model=6_series&make=bmw&search-target=usedcars&channel=cars&postcode=mk109aa&logcode=p That article reminded me the modern* 6 Series even exists, one of these has potential as Mrs N's new daily driver now she's bored with the Gaylander.I always think these look , from certain angles,if you squint,in the dark, a bit like a Virage (albeit with an ugly carbuncle, where the boot lid should be) more economical than our 2.2 6 speed manual dizzler too!
Matt Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I've only had twitter since 2014;) progress is not always progress, nor is it always good What's your Tiwtter handle chap?
UltraWomble Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Tweeted him to say nicely written & I want to know about the sub £300 dizzle Fester.

cort16 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Those 2005 + 6 series are pretty shit I recon. Nice engines and all that but it'll probably end it's days in a puff of electrical smoke and flashing dash warnings. That Chris Spangle generation of BMW's is far from their finest hour. The new ones look nice. The old e24's are lovely. I know they're meant to be a GT cruisers but it's still a pity so many are lumbered with the auto. I had an m535i with the autobox and it ruined it.
forddeliveryboy Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 He's writing on the wrong forum. Needs to go up in the world a little, he writes well enough to be on here.
