Lacquer Peel Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Sorry, this prob should go on the silly question thread but how can you tell what motor will run on veg? Is it all to do with the fuel pump, and if so why? We find anyshite.com, we find anyshite.com from £50 to £588. we find,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Lucas/Delphi/Rotodiesel injection pump will run on veg but isn't as indestructible as the Bosch pump. http://www.gumtree.com/p/nissan/nissan-serena-diesel-7-seater-mot-can-be-used-as-van-px-welcome-/1121661057 Failsworth DVee8 and oldcars 2

2MB Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I can vouch for the Volkswagen 1.6 td being a willing vegetarian, probably done about 10k miles on it. They aren't the best on cold starts but the advance handle helps (works like a choke). That blue Passat estate looks spot on apart from a possible cracked head

Guessing it probably wants quite a lot of brakes for MOT. And shifting it would be pricey. Probably over budget all told. Which is a shame because it looks fucking class. http://www.gumtree.com/p/peugeot/peugeot-306-1.9d/1121041284I could go and look at this for you, and supply you with enough veg to get home. Lacquer Peel Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Yeah, unfortunately 95% of the cars that fit your requirements are being sold by dealers.

Cheers for the offer man. Insurance quote comes back as £1450 for some reason. Modern and massive engine displacement I suppose. Verdict: Cannot.

purplebargeken Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I had a go in a 306 once. Poxy pedals were way too close to each other so as to actually be unpleasant to drive. Shame as they look half decent.

That's weird, my Xsara 1.9D is barely cheaper to insure than my V70 2.5 TDI. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-Bravo-1-9-TD-100SX-ONE-OWNER-FROM-NEW-3-DOOR-DIESEL-/331551927153 Yeahyeah, dealer, horrible alloys, etc. but not unappealing. loserone 1
Jim Bell Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 I dont mind 306s I have had dTurbo and found the pedal position livable. The clutch cables cook/dry out though. Usually tightening up and snapping the plastic connector on the pedal. Canny cars though.
