Also took this for a run around the yard, fitted the fuel pump that minimad sent me (thanks Mark!) and fitted some badly made parts to the front end...

There's not a lot to update this week, we had a major tidy of the unit so most of my time was spent chucking out rubbish and scrap metal in the Tata. I want to make or buy a decent sized work bench and arrange the inside a bit better. We rearranged some stuff and now have a corner fitted with the tyre machine and compressor together which is better than being in the middle of the floor.

Could do with shelves to put the record player and stereo on. I have far too many sets of wheels, I have 2 spare sets for the 305, Proton and Volvo 360 and a small selection of tyres.

I'll know by tomorrow if the 340 and 440 are coming.

Looks like the perfect Volvo for someone who doesn't like Volvos.

Initiating phase 2. A trip to the borders for a 340!

I now have a 240 340 and 440 and a 360... Ok so I've sold the 440 to Derskine already for £200 so he can use the engine in his 340. I drove it back from Arbroath today and it seemed quite quick. The Red 340 I drove up from Jedburgh today too...

Jedburgh... I wonder if that's one of my old ones. I had a blue one, a black 360GLT and a red one. Cannot now remember if the red was 3 or 5 door, the blue was five and the black was 3... The red did go to Jedburgh around 1999-2000, similar time to my having a Mk 3 Pissrat.

Things that need sorted - Blowers don't work, rust, cracked windscreen, replace thermostat, check over exhaust, service. Overall decent and a bargain at £350.

I saw him trying to sell that on FB a few months ago for £750. Well bought I say.

Red Volvo looks nice. Has an Ipswich reg and a Volvo tag on the plate which means it was probably used by Volvo themselves for a short while - all their press fleet is registered at Ipswich docks.

Yes, the black has reacted with the green to make it look like that. I'll be painting it again if it ever dries!

My pal Mike who bought this beauty off me for £400 managed to get it running after lots of trial and error. It sounded sweet.

They are 195r15, I'm not sure how easily I can find a cheap replacement...

That six series looks sweet (other than the shit wheels). Look at those wings, they're always rotten on cheap 6's.

Have some e34 5 series 15" bbs wheels that should go straight on, the ones on it now are fucking horrid.

The paint effect on the Proton looks ace on my monitor so from this distance I'd say keep it but then I'm not there to see it in person with my actual eyes so maybe it's shit up close.

It looks really straight. What did you need to do to get it running?

In reply to get the 635 running it required, 2 small wires connecting back up to the alternator, pushing the key in when cranking, plug leads, cleaned and dried dizzy cap and rotor and fuel! Now starts but cuts out after a few seconds.

I'm quite tempted to drag it somewhere and push it into a quarry so nobody ever has to see the heap of shit ever again. If anyone would like it now that I've completely ruined it the feel free to take it away.

I fully endorse the saving of the Prot-oh-no and have promised my assistance to Senor Chompy in the resurrection of it in some form or other.
