Painted wheels silver, the arch gap up front is horrendous so I have a feeling the angle grinder will be getting introduced to the springs shortly.

If you do chop the springs I'd only recommend taking one coil off. Took 2 off my old 205 for the same reason and it rode like shit. New springs are cheeeep though

Set about fixing the blown exhaust on the Volvo 360. Fitted a back box to find the middle was blowing, ordered one off ebay...

Looked at the concerto, it was pretty shit so I left it.

It also had a "peado bear" logo in the window. Why anyone would want to proclaim that they like fiddling kiddies is beyond me.

So this happened...

Anyone who's had the misfortune to visit FOAD Works HQ would have witnessed the amount of shite we've accumulated and the mess.

Anyway, the guy who's renting the place to us was being a cunt so we did a moonlight flit. He told us on Saturday he wanted us to start looking for somewhere else and my Monday most of our shit was out, we're deliberately keeping him out of the loop and have left him a surprise!

Good luck getting that out!

Would it be bad craic to weld the doors of the place shut and change the locks?

The new place is much better, more secure and has a lot of friendly people around who will let us use their tyre machines etc...

The new place looks great! It must be nice to have the space to work comfortably in (and plenty of car storage by the looks of things). I'm lucky to have somewhere undercover to work in but when you start taking a car to bits theres space for little else.

Edit- is that a stanza in the last pic?

Yeah that's a Stanza!

Probably not to everyone on here's tastes but we like it and it's part of another autoshiters fleet of shite.

That looks fantastic! Do love a stanza, was very tempted by the yellow one Wuvvum rescued and straightened the front end out of a while back.

How many left? recons there are 8 left on uk roads.

That's an amazing collection. Love the Stanza.

How do you go about finding such workshops/places?

How do you go about finding such workshops/places?

Luck!

We first found an outside storage location for £200 a month which would've fitted a few cars and was advertised on Gumtree. We stayed for less than a month because it didn't feel safe to leave a car there.

We asked our Facebook page "Retroshite" if anyone had anything suitable and our previous unit came up for £200 a month. It was full of shit, boxes and shelves.

The guy said we could dismantle his shelves to clear a bit of space. After we had tidied everything up he said we could have the left and he would have the right. We subsequently found out he didn't own the place and hadn't been paying the owner anything and he was taking £200 a month from us.

He came down the other night and complained about the pile of shit stacked in the corner. Most of it was his! we tidied everything up that was ours and decided it was best to look for somewhere else. He also complained that we had dismantled his shelves and that he was pretty annoyed about it. I was like: You told us to dismantle them and he said, no I told you to move them, there's a difference.

At that point I wanted to strangle the fucker but I just said OK whatever...

Anyway, that night (Saturday) we were driving home the scenic look and went for a wander around some industrial estates. We found a number for units to let, gave them a call, saw it on Sunday then paid the 3 months rent up front yesterday at £750 ouch!

By last night we had most of the old unit cleared with just a few things left to take.

It looks good though it's good to have a bit of space. Hopefully the previous landlord enjoys his new fso pickup

It'll be on his website soon enough, I'll still be keeping the front end I'd previously welded together...

No, but it would be much better to weld the FSO to the doors. Preferably on the outside.

That would be great to do but moving it could be an issue especially when I take the wheels off...

Did some more of this!

The only other things it failed on were a couple of bulbs which I've replaced and the horn that I'm going to wire up tomorrow, Friday it should go for it's retest...

In other news I've bought a 4 post ramp for the new place at a bargain price of £150, just need a tyre machine to be totally self sufficient!

The Blandmobile is still around and on the road but I gave it to my dad so I'm trying to have nothing to do with it...

Cars still to get on the road are this!

It's all there and I have another 2nd hand wing for it but I still need to arrange collection for it. I have a Hungarian friend who will trailer it for me in a couple of weeks.

Last but not least is this...

The Alfa Sprint will be going on ebay as soon as the paperwork is sorted, I've been offered £500 for it as it is from an alfa enthusiast and also £250 plus a Rickman Ranger from someone else. I'd prefer a Ranger...

Good effort!! Whereabouts is the new unit? I'd gladly help out with the rent for a shout of the 4 poster now and again...

And give me a shout when the Alfas up for sale...

New unit is in Cowdenbeath so nice and local for me. Would any other Fife shiters be interested in using the ramp when it's up and running? Would there be any demand for renting it by the hour etc?
