I've had people ask me if it's still available and then not get back to me. Two people about 3 miles away asking if I can bring the car to them because obviously they're too lazy or stupid to get public transport to one of the three train stations within half a mile of my house, or the same number of bus stops visible from my windows.
One who was DEFINITELY INTERESTED was due to turn up at 1 this afternoon, texted me with a lame excuse, and the one due at 5, who I spent ages talking to on the phone and sounded like he meant business is a no show as well, and has dropped off the face of the earth.

How hard is it to sell a functioning car with MOT, working aircon and a GR9 stereo for £300? (or £250 to a known and established shiter who's not going to piss me about.)

Had some more eejits today, including a pair of scamming twats who tried a fairly elaborate plan pissing me about for the sake of getting it for £200.

I've been offered £140 from a local scrappy if it drives in. Swap the new-ish tyre for the space saver and rob a couple of other choice bits off it and that's looking like a better deal, but I always hate scrapping a functioning car that someone could get a go in.

FWIW sometimes you can sell cars too cheap on Gumtree, the cheaper the car the more mouth breathers your going to attract.

 

Try Autotrader for £400, it'll go by the weekend.

increase the price, so when the gumtree mongs think theyre kicking you in the stones with a £300 offer you can "grudgingly accept"
