After extensive research here are the results of the recount. For good measure I have included how long we have had each 90's Estate.

1990 Volvo 740GLE auto Estate (21 years)

1990 Mercedes 200TE (11 years)

1993 Vauxhall Carlton 2.0i Club EstateĀ  (4 years)

1996 Mitsubishi Sigma 3.0i Estate (2 years)

1996 Citroen ZX 1.9TD Estate (14 years)

1999 Volvo V70 T5 Auto (19 years)

I do like that Carlton. If I had more space I could easily justify one in the fleet.

The first three are proper estates, driven by the correct wheels, very, very nice. I do rather like estate cars, I do not understand why they are not more popular. If I could only have one car it would have to be an estate, they are great.

From large Estates to a small run around. My Fiat Seicento went off today for MOT work today. The rear brakes are sticking a bit and the rumour is the rear beam axle has some rust and may need welding or replacing.
