Love the Interceptor! As regards the Capri in the 1st pic, I used to drive a Hi Ace van around London B233 EOM!

Superb photos, and great spotting! Was that D reg Toyota photographed at Duxford?

good spots! Looks like you waited for the passengers to get out of the xmas tree metro before sneaking back for a close up :D

Excellent work - love the Bluebird wagon, and that white Starlet looks 519 times better than mine...

Is it a Jensen FF (twin vents on the wing)?

It is - which of course means 4 wheel drive and antilock brakes. Pretty advanced for its time!

For me this has everything a Mini should have.

-non-sporting spec-Check

-Correct tin-foil wheeltrims. Check

-Early 70's era. Check

-Number plate moved to grille. Check (I think all Minis, once they reached 9 years old, had to have the plate moved up there by law!)

-Period motoring accessory store mudflaps. Check

- Mirrors on wings. Check

-Correct rear badge. Check.

This is the sort of car that would have made me late for playgroup in the early 80's.

Echoing Iain's comments...

For me this conforms to some sort of legislation that says 50% of all old Minis must be owned by bellends who promise to fit the wrong plates, cheap clear rear lenses with pink and yellow bulbs, ill-fitting round mirrors and hilarious slogans on the window cut from low-grade vinyl by a guy in the back of an old Transit at a Mini show near you. Mountney wheel and silencerless exhaust de rigeur. I'd gladly support a law giving the owner 7 days to return it back to City E spec or watch it getting crushed.

Thanks for posting the pic and giving me a decent rant Retro!

My mate has a Mini which he is building to a strange spec, it was a 90s Mayfair with a blown up autobox, all that has been whipped out along with the interior. Looks-wise it is going to have the much-unloved 80s Austin Morris black grille. Fair enough but what's going in the engine bay, probably a hot 1275 or 1380 or something? No - a Daihatsu 1.0 Turbodiesel! Much lighter than the old A-series and about the same power, but smoking around with up to 100mpg! Most interesting.

Love the Vauxhalls and the Mk1 P6. Does the red Bedford CF have a Ford engine - it looks like the grille has been altered to read FORD?

COOL. For maximum comedy effect I hope he sources a replacement autobox. :)

It's registered with a 2279cc engine, which is the 2.3 Vauxhall unit.

Love the 2 Metros at the tip and with the A badge.I like the way the FF owner has "secured" it with a ten pound steering wheel device that can be removed in 3 seconds :D

I'm amazed the DVLA let this combo of letters get used!
