vulgalour Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 From www.leylandprincess.co.uk As you are hopefully all aware March 26th 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the official launch of the Princess range of cars.We have been given permission to have a celebration at the Cowley Oxford plant on Thursday 26th March 2015 where there will be refreshments, a birthday cake, a tour of the plant, and Harris Mann himself will come along to join the celebrations.I realise this means a day off work for some members but I'm sure you'll agree it will be well worth it and I hope we can get the biggest gathering of Wedges we have ever seen. Anyone with a Wedge (Ambassadors included) is welcome even if they are not members. Please state if you are interested. ------ This event is directed at enthusiast/owners of Princess and Ambassadors rather than the general public, that applies to some folk on here I'm sure. To attend I need to get the head swapped, the welding finished, the suspension sorted and a fresh MoT on my old wreck. I'll do my best to achieve this, but I might fail in which case I'll be heading down in the Xantia instead. As of yet I've not managed to attend a single Princess event in my Princess. At the very least I'm taking my purple dashboard to see if I can get Mr Mann to sign it. I'll add the times when I know them. Craig the Princess and theorganist 2
beko1987 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I'll keep an eye out on the m40 on my way to and from work then, checking the hard shoulder for any unfortunacies... Make sure your cooling system is tip top, many many many roadworks around that part of Oxford for the forseeable! Unless you get off the m40 at j6 and go watlington - cuxham - stadhampton and turn right when you get to Oxford...
Craig the Princess Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Red Ambassador will be ready (needs exhaust).100 club princess won't be ready by then
dugong Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 If I can get down to cover it, I'll come down (to cover it). There's a news piece on it in this week's Classic Car Buyer, just to get the word out there.
