Cheggers Collection Capers

It's been a while since my last shite acquisition, what with work & refitting my yachtshite, but when darling daughter was ready to take to the road it just had to be an opportunity to buy some prime chod.

So off we went on Sunday and found her perfect first chariot in a scabby yard in Aldershot. Fast forward to today, and it was time to bring the car home.

I had a customer meeting in the morning, which meant I was fully suited and booted for the collection, as befits a car with such a fine reputation as executive transport.

Pinstripe suit & Italian shoes...perfect for the task ahead

Like all good collections, it starts at a station (Richmond in this case)

Before long, it was time to take my place in one of the world's great luxury cars...a Fiat Seicento

It's like a car, only smaller

With a subtle* interior

No petrol station shot I'm afraid - The seller filled it up, which should see us through until the clocks go forward. So have a "fleet shot" instead

Finally, Colette with her first shite. Makes you proud :)

So what's the verdict? - it's a bit scruffy in places, but drives really well and everything works. With 900cc's of throbbing powahhh it couldn't pull the dick off a chocolate mouse, but there's something about driving it that just makes me grin.

For £500 with 6 months MoT, I'm a happy bunny.

Looks alright, apart from the eye-searing interior.

Random fact - I used to work with a woman in Guernsey who had one of these on long-term rental and refused to drive anything bigger.  When I completed my contract and returned to the mainland in 2004 she was shitting herself at the fact it was going to have to go back and she'd have to be driving a Fiesta going forward.

Many points for the lurid blue interior and contrasting red metalwork.

Great fun to drive,

really like these a lot.

Hope she enjoys many happy miles in her little Fiat :-D

Everybody's first car should have painted metal somewhere on the inside of the door.....

Nice. Now get that passenger wiper arm adjusted. It's spoiling it. #littlethings

It's been added to the to-do list...well spotted DW ;)

Is she really old enough to drive?

Mrs c had a 900cc seicento for 7 years from brand new and it was pretty good if not blindingly slow. They're fiddly bastards to work on as it's all so well packed in. The handbrake will bring the most seasoned mechanics to tears.

There's a fair chance that Fiat was supplied by a dealer not half a mile from CMS towers. I recall walking to school past a metric fucktonne of these on the forecourt of the local Fiat dealer similarly registered.

Respect to you for hand selecting a plop of shite which matches the colour of her coat. Looks a nice enough little car
