Just been and bought a can of this for the meriva

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wynns-1831054-57680-200ml-Gasket/dp/B000Y8U9OK

The destructions state to apply the bead, then reassemble lightly until the product starts squeezing out, then tighten up a bit after one hour, allow to cure for 24h then fully tighten

Hbol says to apply the bead, let it cure then reassemble.

Anyone had any experience with this? Wanna get it done on saturday/Sunday, so any whiter tips would be appreciated.

Hbol says...

"HBoL" says it all.

I'd follow the instructions on the product. How would Haynes know better than the manufacturer?

The HBOL notes will be for another product, or general gasket gunk procedure.

You should NEVER read the instructions until after you have done it, that is the golden rule

Yeah, apply sealant and assemble. Don't cure first. Just make sure it's all degreased and dry with this stuff.
