Like having a new car but not!

Today I collected this BMW, it was like getting a new car because I have not driven it for 2 1/2 years, it was May when I last had a "new" car and I do enjoy that first drive.

In fact my wife has owned this 2000(X) E46 BMW 330CI Auto over 8 years, is the second owner with only 61,000 miles total but it  has been in storage for the last 2 1/2 years because it found a nice dry space in a friends barn. He wanted his space back so I collected the car and it passed it's MOT first time. It needed a battery unfortunately and I have had the oil and filter changed but it felt good to drive it again.

Nice. My ex had one of those. Went like the proverbial rodent with sharp-force trauma.

Were there any problems after such a long stand-still? Brake-lines shut, old fuel, stuck brakes or so?

It needed a jump start but burst into life on the first turn of the starter and seems to have stored very well in my friend's dry barn.

Very nice. I drove one of these a few years ago - manual with 186,000 miles on it. Absolutely peachy to drive. Stereo was utterly fantastic as well. Great for pipe organ music. FACT.

I once bought an Abba CD without noticing it was instrumental on pipes - I hated it

A mighty fine looking car,Suits that colour.

Is it a keeper or for sale?

Definitely not for sale, my wife says it’s her special car and refuses to drive it except for special occasions. She drives a 195k 1999 Volvo V70 T5 normally. This is in spite of me saying when she got it to use BMW, ware it out and we would replace it with a newer one. It has done about 4,000 miles in 8 years, a friend calls it the Olympic Torch – it never goes out!
