Do they have a heater tap?

Well not in the sense of the old-school Smiths ones that were brass and were bolted onto cylinder heads back in the 1960s .....

It does have a plastic water valve on the end of a wire. Check if the cable is actually doing anything or has broken off or become unclipped?

These two images from the parts book should apply to that car, later cars have a different air box arrangement.

How fucking depressing. A GL with a big blanking plate and not even a snap, crackle and pop radio. Think I might have a Volvo CR-107 upstairs that would fit the big hole it's covering. Has it got the giffer buzzer / red light that sounds / flashes when you press the gear selector button down?

Aye it does. AndyCMS neglected to mention it and I nearly shat myself when it went off.

Top notch! From around then, they were standard on RHD cars. Earlier cars got them retrofitted at the dealers. I've a MY82 with one and a MY78 with the wiring and hole for one (it's been disconnected).

I'm told, by people older, that it was giffers were sticking them into garage doors, etc. and Esther was going on about it. But I can't remember it. I can only remember Reliant's steering box "bracket problem" on the Robin and Prince the talking dog...

the name of the dealer escapes me, but it was a family affair and they also did hyundai. its now an asda. humph

That'd be ideal... that said it's got no bloody speakers either!

BECAUSE GIFFER the steel wheels had locking wheelnuts which have now been removed by brute force and ignorance.

An opportunity arose to get the little buggy washed and over the pit for inspection. All seems very sound underneath, tame MOT tester has declared it "minted".

This thread is giving me a right stander. I so badly want another 300 when I've a bit more money.
