oman5 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 The number plate on the Sherpa is one digit away from the Sherpa I had Albert Ross 1
beko1987 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I cheered inside when it fired! mat_the_cat and Grundig 2
mat_the_cat Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 There's something about starting an engine after many years which appeals to me, it was the best bit of Scrapheap Challenge! Partridge, stephen01 and Grundig 3
Partridge Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I loved the traffic island beacon that was hidden behind it Top stuff though! We should get that bloke on here.
rml2345 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Hurrah! Was anyone else sort of willing it on to fire? Few patches, tyres and some tinkering would probably see it with a ticket too.
RedSparrow Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Yeah there was something quite satisfying about that.
twosmoke300 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Jesus , that poor starter. Bleed it first ffs Or at least give it a sniff Lacquer Peel 1
Richard Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That's what I was thinking, it would have started right away if they'd bled it. I can't imagine the battery enjoyed the experience either.
Guest Lord Sward Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I'd have had a few cans of Start Yer Bastard or brake cleaner to hand to get the beast into life. Still, this just proves that Sherpas don't quit. Grundig 1
Noel Tidybeard Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 have they got a manual pump?- you can see the mech lift pump on head
Dick Cheeseburger Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Poor old thing. It looked really clean when you laid it up. I guess the issue is that old Sherpas have a limited value. Impressed that the old girl finally ran, though! What are your plans for it?
