beko1987 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 http://www.totalcarcheck.co.uk What a fun website, gives more detail than the DVLA one par example: The VW Sharan dad had from new for 4 years as a company car: Amys car My old landrover and everyones favourite landrover... Seems quite good for a free check! brickwall, Twiggy, spike60 and 4 others 7
barefoot Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Shame you can't see mot, tax and insurance on the same website - YET
Tayne Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 What engine was in your old Land Rover?'83 seems very late for the straight six...
castros_bro Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Brilliant 11/10 the 106 MOT expired last Friday 0/10
beko1987 Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 Was an irish 1976 one, registered in 1983 in the uk. By fuck I wish I had it now, and a welder and some enthusiasm!
Matt Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 The PNC check even works, heres a car that was stolen from my workplace last week.
Shep Shepherd Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 After putting in both of the Volvos' registrations, I found out that The Wentworth was registered on December 11th 1992, something which I'd forgotten. Exactly 11 years later, I bought The Volvo. Double celebration! brickwall 1
AlabamaShrimp Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Easier to use then the dvla site with more info is a win. Now it needs the insurance details to be bully's special prize
beko1987 Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 I've replaced my doovla favourite with this now! I agree, one more handy bit of info away from being perfect!
Pillock Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I use cartell.ie to get make and model from a registration, and dvla to get the rest so this site is pretty good, all in one place. I thought the estimated mileage was based on MOT data, but it just seems to be based on age. My Peugeot is estimated at 4400miles, registered April, its done 13000 now. My 2009 Focus was estimated at 45000, I sold it in the summer with 105k on. This site doesn't hold data as long as dvla though. Some of my old cars are just not listed, the dvla list them as untaxed.
beko1987 Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 It estimated my mileage as 234k, which is way off the 267 it really is!
brickwall Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Who the hell would steal a Chrysler 300? Twiggy 1
spike60 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 What is a VIC marker? One of my cars is a Cat C but is says no VIC marker. Is that when it needs a check before going back on the road?
AlabamaShrimp Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 As above its not infallible, it didn't have a record of the invacar in Thailand in another thread but the dvla did brickwall 1
chaseracer Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 No record for PU51DRY. Disappointing. beko1987 1
