mystery of ye olde tax disk

Recommended Posts

My aged mother had the tax disc stolen from her MX5 (hood down obviously) last week. Can any of you learned gents offer any possible explanation as to why any pillock would do that?

^^This, in all probability.....does the said car have a distinctive number plate?

No, I don't think so, having said that any unintelligible tosh seems to qualify as a personal plate.

Why would it be worth anything?

Seems that tax discs with short/special plates seem to attract a premium....Does seem odd though that somebody should take a current disc unless they are salting them away.

Seems to be a lot of 2014/15 for sale on eBay. Seems £3.67 is sufficient reward to act like a twat then....shakes head, lights ciggie..

Ive seen quite a few cars with no disc now and it just looks very odd.

You could hunt ebay for it.  Should not be too hard to see if it is listed.  I must admit to having sold quite a few on there, but only mine or ones I have got from friends.

Might be for a personal collection, after all selling them for profit when the profit will be about £1 seems completely mental when you are committing a criminal offence!

An I thought having a stamp collection was dull! I've scoped the bay of shite but it's not on there yet.

I see the repro ones are getting popular, you've got to be either a. Terminally boring or b. Properly special, to want one.

I have an alibi!

Probably.

Let me know when you list it and I'll place a bid. Is collection ok? I'll drop in and torture you with a selection of 6 volt 1950s motoring accessories.

Probably some mouth-breather that thinks they can get a refund on it...
