A stitch in inadequate car security saves nine,,err thefts

Knee capping or elbows smashed would be a suitable punishment for this crime.

But then i guess social security would have to support them and their extended scum dependants for the rest of their scummy existance.

Removing the rotor arm won't prevent a break in or attempted theft and all the damage that entails. A massive yellow disclock will mean scrotes will find another hapless victim.

Round them up, put them in the Army, send them to one of those numerous meaningless wars,

and have them machinegunned by the Jihad.

Agreed on the steering wheel lock. I'd also suggest an out-of-sight ignition cut-out. Metros are VERY common for being nicked, because they're easy.

These steering lock thingies are GR8 until you use one when camping in the back end of beyond, and the lock breaks the following morning. As an added insult, I had to cut through the thing with the hacksaw blade (no saw, just the blade) I luckily found in my glovebox but it still took a couple of hours with a MASSIVE hangover the following morning. The combination of the blisters on my hand, the remaining part of the lock and the alcohol induced nausea made it a particularly horrible journey home.

Flip me, don't think I would have risked a boozy-breath drive home with the wheel like that!

Scum. Just scum.

Thanks for the security heads-up though. I'm sure by you posting this thread one or two of us will improve the security on our motors and maybe you'll have prevented one of our cars going the same way.

Amazing how you cannot park illegally without it being caught on camera, yet some little twat can do this and walk.   And then you get robbed again by the insurers.   Sometimes it seems everything is stacked against normal people....

Everything is stacked against normal people because, at the end of the day, they are the path of least resistance.

My mojo is very much back on track, just to demonstrate how just a lapse in security was culprit the skoda has a disc lock,,,no battery and is chained to the festering remains of the escort , and the triumph is in a garage, with no battery, ecu, rotor arm no front wheels lol

evidently those aren't on the road hence more secure but its a reminder that when I do use them again and maybe buy a metro again to sort out foolproof immobilisation

tbh its a good thing that the bad elements of society are very much a minority !

By the time I had managed to saw off the rest of the bar I was most probably legal.

I remember the old red GT6 I owned had a knackered ignition switch so I had just wanged the wires out the back of it, added a couple more wires and made it a hotwire for daily use. It had been like that for a couple of years and never really bothered me.

When I moved to Headingley in Leeds, I was there for 3 days and some fooker broke into the car. However they could not figure out how to start it due to the unusual wiring situation, so the buggered off. Result.

Its a shame that this has happened to the Metro, even more of a shame that its not worth claiming.

Thankfully car theft seems to be a lot rarer these days in my experience*. It was rife 20yrs ago. I used to watch the joyriders driving up and down Beverley Road in Hull in the mid 90's. Was quite entertaining TBH but you would often see the aftermath of crashes in the local area which was scary shizzle.

I do remember though getting told off by my neighbours as I was sat outside my house have a beer down Lambert Street, for cheering whilst watching the local 'Under age 11 stolen moped display team' doing their show. Apparently I was not to encourage them. They had 6 of them on one moped FFS, it was impressive. If those kids did not end up dead from heroin, I reckon they had a great future at village fetes
