SJ/Jago Jeep Off road / roof off shite

The time has come for me to part ways with my SJ/Jago. I've had it a few years now and it has been huge fun, it is immensely capable off road, it'll surprise many many more exotic machines on pay and play days. On road, it's actually surprisingly good! The roof and doors come off too for, in my case, wind in the eyebrows summer cruising.

A bit about it, It's an '89 Suzuki SJ413 Samurai.

It's registered as such, and is mechanically stock apart from it has a weber carb on it now as the stocker was absolute rubbish. It uses all the running gear and the main bulkhead and tub of the Suzuki, but the outer panelling is from a Jago Geep, albeit the front has been lengthened 4" and modified for a more 'Willys' look. Bumpers are modified to enable the best entry/exit angles off road.

It has MOT til February 2015, and is just out of tax. I can tax it for you at cost unless the new tax bollox has come into force yet.

Bad stuff, the engine is poorly (again) it has a knock and doesn't sound happy. It burns oil too. Easy to swap though, I've done it once before, and I cant be bothered to again! Speedo doesn't work, and the handbrake needs adjusting up.

That's about it, It's in Scartho, Lincs, DN33. I'd probably not try and drive it far as I imagine it'll grenade itself, but tax it and use your AA or RAC and I'll treat you to a pub lunch while you wait...

It comes on the black rims, tyres are night on new A/Ts, although the mud tyres and rims can be had for extra.

I'd like £650

Pics then..

That is a cool looking truck, sadly all my shitefunds are invested in French commercial vehicles, but I can think of no better way of surviving this winter than this.

That's effing brilliant. What are the engines like to get hold of for them, and can't you put Ford (X-flow and OHC) engines in these quite easily? I'm sure someone at our local pay and play off-road place had one with a Ford lump in it.

I think you can quite easily upgrade to a 1.6 Vitara lump. Friend paid about £250 for one of those delivered not too long ago.

If anyone wants a vitara engine I have a complete jeep I want to shift on.

I paid 75 quid for the last SJ413 engine, they come up on ebay regularly..vitara one would be a good mod but it doesn't really need more power, it copes ok as it is.. the weber certainly helped.

I'm only about 20 miles away from Kirton Off Road centre, which is one of the biggest in Europe, and it has surprised a lot of more expensive stuff there, plus people don't have a clue what it is!

No offence or owt, but I really hope you don't sell this for a month or so until I can afford it!

Just had him on blower and he's now had to stop to refit the exhaust as its fell of. The good news is he's at newcastle and still under its own steam.

yup it sure did and is now sitting in my garden waiting heart surgery :-D

he said it was 270 odd miles two tanks of petrol and 5 litres of oil and averaged 28 mpg not bad considering he expected it to come back on the back of the RAC truck :-D

Considering it was knocking its tits off I cant fault its longevity! It'll be ace with the vitara motor in it, I hope you're as surprised as I was with it off road, HAVE FUN!!
