I've got the 2.4JTDm Sportwagon version...really great car and surprisingly reliable (if you ignore the random error messages) :)

I suspect tax will be £485 a year, this may have some affect on prices

NO MOT OR TAX!!!! There is a misfire from the engine, EML is on and some damage to the n/s/r door and quarter panel and all wheels are curbed

Other than that:

A chap I used to work with had a GTA with the 3.2 litre engine, bored out to 3.7 by Autodelta, he said it went very very fast and it did sound rather tasty.

I can only assume that it torque steered like a bastard, but that it was a lot of fun while doing so. It had survived at least 5 years when I saw it last and it may well still be going.

Read the ad. They normally go for 5.5k on a 07 plate, it's got no MOT and tax and sounds a little borked.

I'm well aware of that. Not the tax situation though.

Those 159s are mega fit.

I'm sure that 159 has a slipped timing chain or something and requires some £££ repair. They are lovely cars though . They don't drive anything that special but they've got great interiors and looking fannytastic.

They drive better with age. The gearbox on my 2.4 JTD was like a knife through butter after 100k.

Most likely it is an easy repair if there is no mechanical damage, a very good buy for the right person !

It seem they have a GM/Holden engine renowned for chain stretching causing misfires. Someone in Oz on the owners forum had his done using Holden bits for £2540, with Alfa parts it would have been £4850. Coils also a problem if you're feeling lucky.

Dunno, I saw that for sale quite a long time ago, so it cant be that much of a bargain if it still hasnt sold at less than half its normal value.

I think they are one of the best looking cars on the road though.

The 2.2 JTS is the one to have - GM bottom end and Alfa head. Still have the odd chain issue though.

I'm still booting myself up the hole for chickening out on buying a 2.2 jts estate for the same money paid for that shitey 5 series I had.
