320touring Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Phwoar! Belongs to a guy I work with. . Shep Shepherd, brickwall, trigger and 5 others 8
Cavcraft Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I didn't even know they made a soft top one of those. Sadly as lovely as it is, the seats and gear stick are absolutely gopping. eddyramrod, alf892 and Bren 3

Sadly as lovely as it is, the seats and gear stick are absolutely gopping. He bought it off an old boy who had rebuilt it. Feels really solid and secure. I mentioned the gearstick and intimated a change should be in order. The seats, although modern..were damn comfortable, with electric adjustment that works! barefoot, brickwall and Cavcraft 3
rml2345 Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Have to agree on seats and gearstick but other than that it looks rather fit. Is it a Crayford conversion or something? eddyramrod 1

junkyarddog Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Nice, needs those door mirrors chucked in the bin too. solid61 and Cavcraft 2
Squire_Dawson Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Looks much better than the saloon, it is fairly pleasant. I was also unaware they made/offered a convertible. The Victor 101. Apparently so named because there were 101 improvements over the previous Victor. So who says all Vauxhalls are shit? brickwall and 320touring 2
Felly Magic Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I didn't think this was possible, a non shit 'voksorl' , The interior is not to my taste though 320touring 1
lisbon_road Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I have never heard anyone say a bad word about the 101 Victor. Supposed to be incredibly reliable. I don't think Crayford were involved as the first car from Vaux they did was an HB Viva.

Vauxhall 102 does'nt have the same ring to it does it? Bobthebeard and Cavcraft 2
320touring Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 Nice, needs those door mirrors chucked in the bin too.Heh, the visibility was decent but they are a bit w124 for the size of car.. Looks much better than the saloon, it is fairly pleasant. I was also unaware they made/offered a convertible. The Victor 101. Apparently so named because there were 101 improvements over the previous Victor. So who says all Vauxhalls are shit? 101 improvements is a big number, but not if there are 1000 failings;) I didn't think this was possible, a non shit 'voksorl' , The interior is not to my taste though We aim to please such a positive event could not be passed up! I have never heard anyone say a bad word about the 101 Victor. Supposed to be incredibly reliable. I don't think Crayford were involved as the first car from Vaux they did was an HB Viva. I believe you are correct- I'll see what I can find out about the conversion.. If they had cured the propensity to rust there would have been 102 improvements.Vauxhall 102 does'nt have the same ring to it does it?This one seems very solid-although likely a better reflection of the restorers skill than vx build quality..
Felly Magic Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Shock, another non shit Voksorl!!!! Povvo spec Victor. outlaw118, eddyramrod and Bren 3
lisbon_road Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I own a 1967 Viva and a 1994 Astra. I know there are plenty of non shit Vauxhalls, I just admit that the shit ones are so bad that they make up for it! (actually until it was fitted with electronic ignition and a Weber carb, the Viva wasn't that brilliant......)
eddyramrod Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 TWO nice Victors in the same thread? We're in danger of overdosing! That is the lushest 101 I've ever seen...
Felly Magic Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Eddy, more shots of that Victor, you have permission to dribble lisbon_road 1
eddyramrod Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 FY is a Southport combination, so it's extremely likely 13-year-old Ramrod would have seen that about when it was brand new. Very nice. I thought my 74 was basic, but it didn't have a bench seat, blimey! Edit: the grille and wheels are wrong, and as for that steering wheel...!
lisbon_road Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Wow. Bench seat, how many 70s cars had them? Not many I think.
Felly Magic Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 The current owner added the different grille & wheels and steering wheel, but he kept the originals I believe. The car is mint, and the owner does own a 1950's American car, and a 1950's Ford Pop/Anglia, both standard eddyramrod 1
Bren Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 My dad had an FE on an N plate. Yellow with black vinyl roof. He still says it was the best car he ever had.
