SHITE-Car Chod Rental

I'm looking to head back to the UK for a few weeks in August, whilst there I'd like to rent a car. Apparently MG in Longbridge have got a load of ex-Avis MG6s which they are now renting out for summat like £20 per day or £120 per week.

That's not tae bad a price to be driving something fairly rare and at £360 for 3 weeks it does nae seem too bad. However it did cross my mind to ask this - At around August time would any shiters here have a taxed and MOT'd car going spare? I'll pay for its Petrol/Insurance cover and any upkeep it needs during the time I use it.

I'd MOT my own Rovers but I doubt they'd pass and I won't have the time to faff about with them.

Thanks.

If all goes well I could have 3 road legal motors by then in which case yes,  a more likely scenario is that I'm trying to rent one of your 800's as all of mine are fucked.

Quite difficult getting an MG6 hired from Longbridge. A better bet might be Enterprise as they have a few of them too these days, though there is nothing to say they will have one in stock at whatever branch you go to.

Possibly - 2001 Alfa 156 2.5 V6 petrol, six speed manual.   Located South Oxon, not far from Heathrow, collection in London possible.

Or lest thirsty, if steering done by then - which it should be - 1978 Lancia Beta 1300 Coupe, five speed manual, but you won't impress your friends or business associates with its looks.

I have been in a rented MG 6.  Goppingly shit car.  I have a high tolerance for shit in cars, but this was simply too shit for words. I did not drive it but my friend who had rented it told me that it drove like a bag of shit.  He hated it more than any car he had ever driven, and like me he has driven some utter fucking heaps.

Last time I needed to rent a car I ended up buying a snotter out of the local paper and running that for the 2 weeks mine was off the road (just transferred the insurance from the one that was banjaxed to the snotter).

Cheaper than Europcar or Swan National.

Any fooker who wants to come and help me fix the fuel pump on my HPE can borrow it to smoke around in for a bit.  The steering rack job on the Coupe may be a bigger order, but same offer applies.     You get more shitepoints in the Coupe as it looks like a total shitheap whereas the HPE looks a tad smoooooooooth, so long as you don't focus on the sunroof.

Hey! Cheers for the offers lads, but it looks like I'm about to purchase a tatty Rover 827 Coupe on LPG for 400 notes

Nice one LS, you are slowly cornering the Rover 800 market! A coupe on LPG sounds like a thoroughly agreeable way to smoke about

I'd love an MG6 hire car but Europcar have just delivered me a Polo of such low spec it has manual locks and little joystick controls for the mirrors.

http://www.lccr.co.uk/You might get a rover 75 if you are lucky.

I just had a look at this and unfortunately it seems that they will rent to members of the US military stationed in the UK:

Can I Hire?

As a company we trade exclusively with US military, and only those stationed in the UK.

This is not because we don't want to, it's because US based insurance companies eg. USAA will not temporarily cover for liability overseas.  Call us with your questions.
