Personally I hate the place though rather annoyingly they keep giving the best price on oil compared to other supermarkets. The 40L I have are near their sell by date too so it may get even cheaper!

Look what veg diesel brings up in google image results.

By the way veg is on 2x5litres for £8 at Asda at the moment. Same with sunflower oil too if that floats your boat.

Good price - although I try and avoid the GM Soya, ime injectors are much more likely to gum up than if on rapeseed oil, which also runs better (smoother, more powerful, better economy) in every engine I've ever had on veg. Sunflower also good, rare to come across it used in decent quantities.

Here's a spill of palm oil.

I have had several people tell me that I can't be running my car on veg, they disbelieve even what their own nose is telling them.  Stupidest questions so are "how does that work then?" and "won't it explode?".  I've also been questioned on the legality of it, but as far as I know because I'm not getting through thousands of litres it's all above board.

Is there truth to the rumour that you can't MoT a car running on veg?  I've been told it cocks up the sniffer tester but it sounds like bollocks to me.

Pug went through MOT two weeks ago on straight veg. Not a murmur apart from you don't see many of them anymore. :)

Still pretty chilly up there, eh Len? ;)

Will's intercooled 1.9 TD 205 passed emissions no probs on his WVO last week. Retest tomorrow for his other fails.

Never had any problems with emissions tests and running on veg, the reading is a fraction of an engine running on pump diesel, that might put some MOT testers wrong.

Garages in general are deeply cynical of anything running on biodiesel, let alone straight veg - mine almost fell over when I told him it had already served its purpose as a cardiacarrest facilitator, frying food. At first he refused to test it, then relented and couldn't believe it when the readings were so low. Still jokes about the smell, though, he still doesn't quite get it either.

Isn't used oil cheaper? I'm pretty sure the laws were written with running on used veg in mind rather than new stuff meant for cooking.

I can get filtered used oil for 50ppl. my XM seems to run better on used stuff compared to new, although the new stuff I get is KTC GM soya.
