I don't know If County Caravan and Car sales are still in business, I used to replace the word sales with another word beginning with C.

 

Twice I did the 90 mile round trip to cccs.

 

Once to find the advertised car wasn't there and the next time to find they had the car I was looking for but offered me about 6 pence for the Cavalier I wanted to part ex - that I went on to sell for 2 large.

 

Blimey that was a while ago.

County Caravan and car sales are no longer about.They won £6m on the lottery in about 2000.And yeah, had a reputation of having peoples legs up.

Jessops/Bristol street are now TC Harrison

Millers of Eye have gone

Cowie has gone

MT Cars now have the Jeep franchise not Marshall

Peterborough Auto Salvage have gone

 

Granville supplies are still going

so too Borocars (although part of the Robinson's group now)

and J & S cars are still trading.

 

Oh and the Evening Telegraph is now a weekly Peterborough Telegraph.

Jessops/Bristol street are now TC Harrison

 

I've only known that as TC Harrisons, and that they had a load of grief from the Heron Park pikeys. Surprised they lasted as long as they have really!

Bristol Street are a shower of wankers, they got taken over in 2006 by a company called Vertu which is ran by a former director of Reg Vardy, most of their English branches are still called Bristol Street Motors, the rest are called Vertu Honda, Vertu Volkswagen and Farnell Land Rover, the Scottish branches are Macklin Motors, I nearly bought a Mazda 3 from them a couple of years ago and got spoken to like a piece of shit by the sales manager and salesman.

Jessops/Bristol street were in Stamford and yes TCH did have grief from the Oxney road site which is opposite.Police had set up camera equipment to monitor the site during a car ringing operation and the pikeys found out.Harrison's are still going with Peterborough,Stamford and another branch down the A1.

Heron park's boarded up houses are now occupied and the whole estate cleaned up.The Heron Park estate was built and sold to greedy foreign investors (mainly Hong Kong) in the same way Bulgarian properties on golf complexes were sold to greedy British investors.Nobody local wanted to rent a house opposite the entrance to a traveller site where feral pikey kids roamed the empty streets on quad-bikes.Windows got smashed,houses were stripped and the bare shell eventually boarded up.Every single house opposite the pikey site was boarded up.The estate was down to 5% occupancy before the council stepped in.

When I were a lad in parnwell (89-99 when we moved to Warrington) heron park was no go. The gippos trashed the lot! They went to my school though and I was mates with some of the better ones.

 

Its still a shithole in my eyes though even though they've cleaned it up allegedly...
