Negative Creep Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Imagine getting chauffeur driven to an AS meet then strolling out the back of that like a boss eddyramrod 1
Jim Bergerac Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Funny that the Elswick Envoy should come up, I saw one at the weekend! Back when I used to go into Edinburgh early every morning a few years back, I always used to see a chap commuting in one of these these (albeit an older version). brickwall, anonymous user and trigger 3
dugong Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I'd love an Elswick Envoy. I'd turn it into a track day car for no apparent reason. anonymous user 1
dugong Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Built 1380 A-series, 1.8 K-VVC, or Honda twin-cam? Probably a Metro Turbo engine for added shite points. Not gonna lie, I really want an Elswick Envoy. I'm never going to own a Unipower GT, but in my mind the Elswick's similar, with the bonus of being in budget. I can't find a specifications sheet anywhere. I'm surprised Elswick never tried to market a second version as a radical step-through city car closer to William Towns' original Minissima concept. A pair of tandem seats and lidded pods down the side would take care of storage space and they could be parked end-on like Smarts are today. I'll stop chewing on the insulation of this chair now.
Tayne Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 What that Metro really needs is another conversion so you can drive it from the wheelchair position and scare the shit out of everyone.Like the Thames van in the movie Bad Taste? oman5 and e287yba 2
Dick Cheeseburger Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 There's a chap who used to live opposite our previous house with slightly dodgy knees. He's only in his mid-thirties and after realising the benefits* of the nanny state, claimed his wife as his carer, bought an iphone and widescreen TV with the winnings from his three offsprings food income (I guessed that bit, but it's likely to be fairly accurate) and scrapped his old Mundano when the new disability provided Zafear-err rolled up outside. He's done jack shite for the last 5 years.I would like to hedge a bet that if the Zafear-err was replaced with one of these special Metros, his phone replaced with polystrene cups and string, and his house was replaced with a damp flat in the shonkiest part of town, his knees would heal rather quickly and he'd be back winning some bread. We need more of these special Metros - make it happen! Noel Tidybeard Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 THE POWERS THAT BE declared that the Minissima couldn't be produced as is because it only had the one rear door and that teh occupants could be trapped if rear ended hence it appeared as the Elswick with added doors

We need more of these special Metros - make it happen! My wifey has ME, yuppie flu, post viral chronic fatigue, lazy desease. Call it what you like, but she can not work full time, but refuses to make any claims, despite the fact that some days of the week, she has to lie down for an hour, after getting dressed. Her reasoning? People will think she's a scrounger, sponging off the state. The symptoms which the consultant used to diagnose her, were "there's nothing else we can find, so that's what it must be" Most days she can walk the dog, and I've seen her run at least 200 yrds once (she then had 3 days in bed), so the neighbours probably think she's very lazy, not having a job and living off me, but hey. On the one hand, I hate scroungers, but on the other, how the hell do you know that they are or are not. Are you a doctor? A modified metro, would definitely sort them out. Dick Cheeseburger 1
anonymous user Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I see a flaw in the above as I would quite happily drive any of those invalid carriages featured even though I don't need one. So if I did need one and it was provided it would be a bonus. The loft-converted Metro could be modified to include a small upstairs which would be handy for the dog. oman5 1

But even someone with a removed brain would be able to see the guy over the road from our old place is a good, old fashioned piss-taker. Whom I pay for using my taxes. I don't mind funding a plethora of those Metros, though. They would change things considerably. Just imagine a turbo version - wuh!
