retrogeezer Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Heads up for those that may want to go. It's usually the annual autoshite chodfest first meet but I don't think Billy sorted anything this year.
Cavcraft Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 No I didn't, sorry. It was a bit close to Chodfest, and also I just didn't enjoy the venue as much as Chumley, HOWEVER...I think there's a September Chumley show so can always book that if people want. catsinthewelder, davidfowler2000, dollywobbler and 1 other 4
retrogeezer Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 not as good a Chumley for sure....wasn't a moan, I could quite easily have missed the post if there was one!
retrogeezer Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 oh, what a fucking surprise - rain forecast for Sunday...FFS!
Lord Sterling Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Shame, the head office of the company I work for is in Northwich. Could have spent a few days there and had a peek at this show at the same time.
catsinthewelder Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 No LS, you need to lead a company fact finding mission the week after to explore expansion opportunities in Welsh tourist destinations like Devils Bridge Cavcraft, davidfowler2000, Lord Sterling and 1 other 4
sporty-shite Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Not as good as Chumleyfest, although rhat might have been because Mrs S had the right royal arse last year. Would like to do Chumley kater this year, though.
sporty-shite Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Also, if there's a Capesthorne date this year, that would be worth a go. It's nice there, too.
retrogeezer Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 it absolutely pissed down at Arley last year too. We went to Arley on a sunny day in Oct 12 and it was fab. I've got a Capesthorne ticket too...nice place.
Cavcraft Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I think it's because of Shitefest, Si. If there's any interest I'll sort something out for Cholmondely in September. HillmanImp and davidfowler2000 2
Station Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Was that really a year ago?!I went in the Fuego and had a beret and was blasting the Allo Allo theme music all the way there from services. Thought it was rubbish in Arley, nothing there and a waste of a Sunday. Cholmindekey is a much better location.
retrogeezer Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Chumley is ace but they don't let Andrew Greenwood go there in May any more coz of the hoity toity and their pageant of power.. And it was chucking it down last year, any show is shit in the pouring rain to be fair. Some nice stuff at Arley today but the hall are tight arses and don't let you wander around the grounds without paying extra either.. Capesthorne on the 25th - that's a great show/location. hairnet Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Some nice stuff at Arley today but the hall are tight arses and don't let you wander around the grounds without paying extra either.. Capesthorne on the 25th - that's a great show/location.that happens at tatton too - i go on a bike they (try) and make me pay parking like a car as well as entry to the show 'no im only going the show not the house' 7 quid please 'im not a car' 7 quid please - i turned round and went for a ride apart from the fact im usually doin other stuff when the american show is on ive not been in 12 years
retrogeezer Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 I meant that at Chumley/Capesthorne if you are showing your car and have paid for the show ticket you can walk around the gardens FOC. You have to pay extra for the house though. If you are showing your car it's only £3.50 a ticket for 2 adults and 2 kids.
retrogeezer Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 I took loads mate but you may as well look at hairnets thread as he took nearly everything!
