Lotus Elite doesn't benefit from the bodykit treatment does it? but thank goodness someone is keeping one alive.

The Fox is ace.

I see you captured Mikeknight at the end there in his Trump with the shop's Alfa behind.

Posted

Yeah, we left early.

Nice show but it's things I've seen many times before and I got bored. :P

I did really enjoy the massive working pump though. Wonder if I can fit that in a car...

So that was your GT6 and 'your' Alfa, then? I assumed they were another pair and didn't notice them travelling in convoy.

I am a big fan of the GT6, but I love those Alfa's. :)

Were you at the NERC show, last year, with your GT6, Mike?

That Cortina 2000E is getting me all hot and bothered.

And I wish my parents had a Granada like the blue one - with the T bar auto gear shift. Not the 2.0 L with 4 speed manual.

Nice  pics....Loving (really loving) that red P6.   Phwoarr

That Scammel is the dug's baws! Like the Saab 99s too.

In the wide shot at the top there's a wee car with a yellow roof next to a red mk2 Jag, it's the only car I can't identify.

Does anyone know what it is?

Pretty sure it was a three wheeler thing, forget the name. Front engined and the two-stroke boat anchor turns with the steering.

Bond?

That Richie's Scammel and their traction engine often used to hold me up, trundling between Hetton and Houghton, but I never minded. Who could? :)

To the first question, yes, the GT6 is mine and the Alfa is the business' (it's for sale if anyone's interested!). We discovered on this run that the syncro on 2nd has eaten itself alive and 3rd is about to do the same, so we're swapping it with a box we have in the shop that we know is good.

To the second question, er.. I don't know.. what's NERC?  :P

I would be in agreement that the funny little car was a Bond Minicar with the hardtop and what looks like the world's tiniest exterior visor.  Wealthier drivers didn't like them.

Cool. How much? I know they aint cheap, these days!

NERC is the North East Resto Club, at Washington.

There was two red GT6's there last year and one of the owners - afaik - educated me mate and I, about them.

Oh, well, I've slept since then.. but it could've been me, I don't remember. I know it's been off the road for almost a year having essential* work done on it.

The Alfa we're hoping to get between £18k-£20k, it's fibreglass, a bare metal one would be going for anywhere between £25k-£30k, the price of these has shot up and is continuing to shoot up.

Blimey! I knew I wouldn't be able to afford it!

It is a beautifully proportioned thing, though and I hope I get to see it again.

That looks like my kind of show i.e. lots of 70s and 80s chod and not a field full of MGB's, Morris Minors and Stags !! -_-
