vulgalour Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 VA, while you have the orange one stripped and lying about....... just how difficult would it be to swop over the front-end metalwork? That would achieve the object, nes'ce pas?Wings, bonnet, front valance, lights and bumpers all need changing at the front, this requires some welding and unwelding to make happen but it's almost a straight swap as I understand it. At the back a bit more welding is required as the rear quarters are different to accomodate the plastic bumper and the wrap around lights but again is possible with a little effort. I think the only things I'm short to actually do a Princessador are an Ambassador, a pair of front wings and a straight Princess lower front valance. I've even got a spare Princess steering wheel, wheel trims and dash binnacle. eddyramrod 1
barefoot Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 ...I just felt like a massive loser driving round in it. They look 'OK' from the outside and the suspension is extraordinary but the inside and the drive is just so flipping dismal its indescribable. I 'saved' my 2003 one out of a scrapyard, but in the end left it outside a different scrapyard one night and pushed the keys and paperwork under their gate. Just sitting looking at the rubbish clocks and wobbling the spindly gearlever through its rubbery, half-arsed gate is enough to make anyone get a bus instead. At least the princess looks cool as f**k and has an ace dashboard.Plus eleventy on all of this, rose tinted glasses and all. I test drove one and bought a Cavalier 2 instead. Princess with a tailgate, it's the stuff of dreams.Stuff of fucking nightmares more like!
Negative Creep Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Plus eleventy on all of this, rose tinted glasses and all. I test drove one and bought a Cavalier 2 instead. Call me crazy, bt for me they've actually gone full circle and become cool. I bet you';d actually get a lot of positive comments driving around in one now
Mr_Bo11ox Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 You might do, but that wouldnt help how you actually felt deep inside
vulgalour Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Maybe some of us crave disappointment and are afraid of being happy? I know I do and am. That's why I own a Princess. eddyramrod 1

theorganist Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I've had nothing but positive comments since driving the Princess in the few weeks it has been on the road. I also feel good driving it! I'm hopefully showing it at its first classic car gathering on Sunday. I must admit I don't think the Ambassador looks as nice inside, I would love one though!
