Radio Cassette Installation Edinburgh/Glasgow Area

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend an installer in this area?

There used to be a great place in Bathgate called MRD but sadly they are no more.

If this is for anything with a normal DIN stereo slot, you can surely do it yourself? Nowt tricky to it.

Mostly done it myself so I wouldn't know.

Just DIY it, man.

If the car has DIN wiring, it's just a matter of plugging a couple of connectors in and folding a couple of tabs in the metal 'cage' to hold the radio in place. Really, really simple.

If the car has some obscure manufacturer-specific wiring, and there's no off the shelf adaptor, five minutes with a multimeter will tell you what goes where.

Try Halfords. They only charge 150 pounds for installation, and only sometimes burn out the wiring behind the dashboard. You may want to watch them doing it as you'll probably have to take it out again to put it the right way up.

Or, like the profeshunal* who did my van - take the feed from the dash clock.  He grunted that the stereo had a time display.....So it does, I said.  Yours is up, can you take it back out please?

If its just a normal player to player to swap its a easy job. If your in Edinburgh I can pop round and give you a hand with it. Im no pro but ive done loads of my own and I wont have your car on fire.

As for the charge???? A nice cup of coffee will do fine bud.

It's surprisingly easy to do it yourself. Even converting it to standard DIN sockets isn't too difficult if you take your time and work methodically. Off the shelf adaptors are much easier though.

I was going to offer the same but I'm more expensive. I'd want biscuits too.
