Great! there were loads of Ashok leyland busses trundling about on mauritius when i went a few years back.

 

In the 'defence' section of the website I half expected an armoured allegro staff car

Yes, it's remarkable the logo is still in use and they seem to be proud of their heritage. The history section on the website is very good.

I just missed getting a photo of the Ashok leyland dealership as I went through Mumbai a couple of weeks back. Was quite amusing to see the logo next to BMW and toyota.

Most of the long distance hauliers in that part of India use Ashok leyland.

Yeah, I read the words "Ashok Leyland" mutliple times per day in traffic over here (Saudi Arabia)

The Turkish company BMC who make various things, you'll occasionally see their school buses over here, I think there is some complex history that the BMC really was British Motor Company.  Vaguely remember that they are not doing well now.
