...Billy take a, Billy take a bow,

Cause he's bought another, faded Corsa,

Now he daren't go home tonight,

Go out and find some more Autoglym paint restorer...

He did do an album called 'Vauxhall & I'. It's all starting to make sense now.

So Dagenham Dave was an anomaly?

The more you ignore me, the pinker I get?

I bet there are some Rubber Rings in a Corsa as well.

And on the drive outside i sat and stared, i'll never make this mistake again....

You shut your mouth
How can you say
Vauxhall went about me the wrong way
I'm a Corsa and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does.

This Charmless Car

Pogweaseled Corsa,

On a hillside desolate,

Will Nature make bean cans of me yet?

When in this charmless car,

This charm-less car,

I never wanted a Corsa
They are naturally evil
Such things I do
Just to make
a profit on you
Have I failed?

Right, a minor update: when I got it the little 's' light (for Sport mode) came up on the dash but went off again when car restarted. Anyhow used it for the first time today and by fuck it was slow to pull away, so pissed about and the light goes on/off at random.

Googled the problem and the ever helpful VXON supplied the answer ( http://sirbendy.co.uk/car-projects/vauxhall-automatics/fixing-the-vauxhall-flashing-s-of-doom/ )and the selector switch is the problem. Happily they can be taken off and cleaned up, so I'll do that this afternoon with the aid of my lad and hopefully that'll cure it.

Made a half-hearted attempt at cleaning it, put it back on, same problem.

So....got some non-conductive (or whatever it is) grease, took it all apart, cleaned it and re-greased it, then forgot I was suppose to have done it in neutral so now (after re-assembly and re-fitting) I reckon the gearbox thinks it's in gear, so the inhibitor won't let the car start. I'll have another look tomorrow and see if it's an easy fix, which I think it is to be fair.
