Stixy Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Probably been covered in another thread that i either havent seen or got distracted while i was reading , but as they wont be issuing discs after october? , afterwards can i put one of the replica repro disc in my windscreen permanantly ? Sounds a bit sad ... but i am , my xmas pressie off mrs stixy was a dealer set from DMB eddyramrod 1
fordperv Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I can't think of any legal implications as there's no requirement to even show one so there shouldn't be a problem with displaying a period disc, I'm thinking of doing the same thing in the saph, do dmb do the replica discs?
HillmanImp Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Good point. I have the original disc out of the Visa, will probably put that in if i am still tootling about in it.
Stixy Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 DMB dont but they do on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131091556472?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
overrun Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 And I thought it was only me with this plan. I may opt for the 'Tax in post' classic. That'll confuse a few.
fordperv Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Nice, the pedantic* side of me worried about the issuing area on the stamp with a repro tax disc, no one will provably never look at that but on my car I'd know if it wasn't correct, it's good to see the attention to detail * saddo Stixy 1
Stixy Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Yes i had thought about the issuing area on the disc too , I also sent a v888 off just to find the supplying dealer for mine before i ordered the plates
FredTransit Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I offered scans ages ago and was told they were naff!

Conrad D. Conelrad Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I'm assuming a lot of people just won't bother removing their paper disc when they re-tax in the paperless era, and a little bit of me is looking forward to spotting old cars with 31 08 14 discs in decades to come.
CortinaDave Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Mr Magnetax must be suicidal. His company will be in administration by october. Rusty_Rocket, scruff and Micrashed 3
saucedoctor Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 We have to display MOT discs in NI, so there'll still be a market of sorts.

minolman Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 If they are not going to issue discs after October then the last valid one will expire on 31.10.15 if purchasing 12 months tax on the last day the issue at end of October this year? I might just have to do that. hehe
