Anyone want some OMGHGFMGZR shite?

A mate of mine is looking to get rid of his MG ZR, it's showing all the signs of early stage O-MGHGF, but other than that its pretty tidy. It's only done 44k from new, my mates owned it for a couple of years I think.

It's the 1.4 in Grey with all the spoilers etc. On an '04 plate.

Any idea what it'll be worth? WBAC have offered £500 for it, but he knows they'll try and haggle him down when he gets there.

Not the actual car, but exactly the same...

SCRAP IT.

In all seriousness, want me to put a shout out on AR?

Cheers, although I'll get some more info on it before you do, MOT/TAX etc. It's on the road I know that, as my mate was using it until it started using water.

It's in Leeds centre.

If it's parked in Leeds Centre will the piles of bricks be included in the price?

OK, bit more info on this.

It's taxed and tested until May, it's still running ok, but some oil is appearing in the water. It's '54 plate iirc. So has the later bootlid with the number plate in the bumper.

It's running on the spare wheel at the mo, as my mate had a puncture on Christmas Day, and it has a small dent on the bootlid. Nothing serious though.

He wants around £450 for it. Anyone?

I think you might struggle. El bollox paid 155 quid or something for his 25 Gti with a similiar ailment.

Yeh, I thought that, not my car though.

And potential HGF?

Where's the 20p stuck?

Not sure on the 20p!

Cobblers, what the details on the polo? He may be interested.

I'll pass the details on... Cheers

I regurlarly scan turdBay for kippered rovers, i reckon it would make 300-350 or so on there with a following wind, possibly a bit more if the HGF issue is not shouted about too loud

How nice do those MGZR's look?

When they first came out I was all "Lynne, they've rebadged it you fool!" but they are ageing really really well to the point where I'm deffo eyeing one up (see above) as a daily, I bet as a 1.4 it's not that thirsty.

Bought one while back for £250 without OMGHGF, personally I would get rid, maybe advertise in your local Mickey d's, the lokal dirfterz crew will lap it up 4sur

Am I right in thinking that one like this, with the early signs of OMGHGF, will probably be fine for ages if you chuck an MLS gasket kit at it? Seeing as it probably hasn't softened or warped the head yet?

I loved my pre-bubble 214.
