brickwall Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 The soft porn music and having Ray Brooks looking like a paedophile didn't really help the brand. Banger Kenny, cms206, michael t and 3 others 6
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 "Don't let's mess about, let's get on with it, because time's money" *rambling fourteen minute advertisement follows, three minutes before we even start looking at the vans* Vince70, Banger Kenny, brickwall and 1 other 4
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Thats 100% CLASS, love it. Why is there no glass in the maestro's rear windows?

Lord Sterling Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Mr Benn's narrator. Those were the days. Was he really?
londonm Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Made by a shite corporate film company, in a shite corporate style, by someone who probably thought they should have been directing in Hollywood or at the very least shooting TV commercials. The eighties look foul in so many ways still.
Squire_Dawson Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I still see the odd Maestro van chugging about still working. I've always wondered about the engine life on these; even though they are A+ motors I question the wisdom of 12,000 mile service intervals on them.
CortinaDave Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 "Why would you want an estate car with the windows blacked out? You need a proper van" Er... But we would want a metro with the windows blacked out? Agree though you do still see the occasional decrepit maestro van working - usually in the remains of British telecom yellow. They seem to be pretty hardy beasts
brickwall Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Was he really? He voiced several kiddies things. I remember him doing JAckanory
D-Dubya Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 didn't he murder Pauline fowler on eastenders? a lot of none fleet maestro vans seemed to be owned by the older self employed gentlemen who didn't pretend it was an MG turbo like the 20 odd year old plasters/plumbers/builders etc used to think their escort vans were RS Escorts... they got looked after
trigger Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I used to have Maestro 2.0D works van on a G plate for a very short well, It was ex BT IIRC with vinyl seats and all the racking still in the back, I actually really liked it, It was very quick and drove well even with 130000 miles on the clock. In the end rust killed it on the mot and it ended up in the yard as a shed for a number of years, I told my boss that he should have removed the engine as Land Rover owners pay good money for them but he couldn't be arsed, fat twat.
