Took it in for mot yesterday, failed on airbag light, blow in exhaust flexible near cats.

numberplate bulbs,

Emissions believed caused by exhaust blow.

Can get replacement flexi pipe.

but airbag light may be a problem.

Bridge the connectors with a sidelight bulb.

Will operate as per spec. On with ignition and off after a couple if seconds.

Will mean dismantling the steering hoop, but it works.

I'm presuming it's the steering wheel airbag, but the same will apply for other bags.

I bloody knew he should have taken it for an MOT! Still, his loss is your gain.

Right, ref the airbag: fish about under driver's seat and unplug the wiring there. Clean up both connectors as best as possible and the light will go out. My lad said he did it and it only lasted 20 minutes but he didnt go mad cleaning it up, and also hopefully it'll last long enough for the test.

Download multiecuscan, get a connector off Ebay for less than 20 quid and you can be an Italian diagnostics guru. Brilliant for resetting throttle bodies, airbag lights, ABS lights, the lot. Works on Alfa,Fiat and Lancia.

What were the emissions readings? Usually an exhaust bow will send the Lambda high.

My son fixed the airbag light by removing seats and resoldering wires.

Exhaust is going to be a problem as it is flexible part behind cats that is blowing, nearly £200 new.

Get a repair section and get it welded in.  That's what I did with the Vectra, which was also blowing from a front flexi - new genuine section for that was £330.  Repair flexi was about £22.

Unfortunately flex part is a strnge very flexible section that is square at on end and oval at other so not possible to replace.
