One does not simply buy a car and not take it to the Hollies.

Ah, but its not mine ;) it was delivered to its new owner last night when I came back. A bit late due to getting lost in Wales.

It appears as if you found an old Rover garage, I wish I dragged my lazy arse out of bed now! Where is this garage, me and my KV6 Sterling will have to make a pilgrimage there soon.

Just today - never knew bank holidays started on a Saturday

I got separated when you lot went in the right hand lane through some lights for a roundabout then the lights changed as I was another 4 vehicles back.

Effing BMW driver blocked me as I was leaving auction site, which was why I was off the tail of the convoy, by half a dozen vehicles from the off.

I then went the wrong way at the following roundabout, realised my mistake, turned about went in a Litchfieldish direction and ended up at Chasewater before you guys did.

Had a coffee, bought a couple of books out the station shop for a £1 each, (Bulleid's Pacifics and Railways and War) then took random roads back to Brum to have a quick shop, lunch and cinema meetup with Mrs for The Man from UNCLE (good chod count, worth watching).

I can't have left Chasewater that long before you guys arrived, oh well.

Shit. And bastard you buying a bullied book! You WERE missed though. Station cafe is now a new meet up place for brekkie before auctions MVM approved!

I must say that much enjoyment was has today. It's great to meet up with other AS members, even junkman with his hatred of CXs. It's just the tonic that I need after a gruelling fortnight of work (okay, with an interlude of greatness from the Skoda of win plus the greatness that is Mr Fowler and CMS). Please, when the next one rears its ugly little head, come and support us. You won't be disappointed!

It is a 1.7, they are so cheap that it is not worth getting a slower one (1.4 or 1.6)

The only expensive ones are the Ford Racing Pumas as they made so few of them

I was wondering about 12th September as there is racing at the nearby Hensford Hills on that Saturday afternoon.

I'll ask the monster-in-law if we can borrow her drive again  :D

It was a truly great day despite no bidding on clapped out brummy cabs was possible, so apologies to Lord Sterling, who is consequently still relegated to walking.

I was tempted to whack in a sneaky bid on the railway instead, though. Oh, and on the delightful 827 Si at the shabby chic Rover dealership, of course.

And many, many thanks again for letting me scare a lot of people with the Auntie Rover!

It subsequently climbed quite a few positions on my to have list.

Only until Thursday next week when the McKV6 is rudely disturbed from it's slumber and MOTd for road use again.

Please tell me someone got a picture of this?

I wonder if that Rover dealer would like some window display in the form of 3x Rover 800s?

This is not real until we have photographic proof of an actual purchase at this auction house of repute.

Most of what happens around the AS Midland Massiv is unreal in some way or other.  Yesterday was a fine example!

Cheers Steve. Gonna have to resist the temptation to buy that when I visit. Though I'm still gonna offer my Sterlings for display.

This Saturday - who's up?  I shall need cheerful* company and a DEATHBURGER after waving a fond farewell to the 300E as it heads north to a new life in ScotVolvoland.

I shall also need my hands sewing into my pockets...

I'm in. Brakes will have to be sorted another time as Mrs_Sterling/Turkish based Sterling_family stuff has popped up.
