I'm struggling to remember what I had in 2005!

I seem to recall having a L reg 106 1.4D Graduate for a short while as a run about like this which cost me about £250.

It wasn't a bad car from memory, nothing special though, the pedals were too small to drive with size 10 steel toe cap boots, it was slow and the door got dented one windy night when the wind blew it open against the wing, but it was VERY cheap to own.

I sold the 106 later in the year to buy a N reg Mondeo 1.8TD GLX for £300 which was a lovely car, it drove fantastically and was very comfy.

It was identical to this but a hatchback, I kept it a year and sold i to my uncle for £300 who killed it within 2 years.

I also owned this 306 1.8 Merdian.

I think it cost me about £3000 at the time, it was a bit of a poor purchase as the door started to fall off, it was very juicey and things kept going wrong with it. I ended up selling it a year later to a girl who had own £10000 on deal or no deal.

I was driving this 8 years ago:

Easily one of the best cars I've ever had... it proved capable of putting a sustained 138 mph on the clock on European motorways and cost very little to run & maintain in the 5 years I owned it.

In yer face, VOXALL / Ecowreck disparagers, hehe!

Funny you should mention a 306 Trigger - this was still mine in 2005. I was less hairy then...

That was the last car I bought on finance. I paid £6495 for it when it was four years old. A really nice car to be fair, but not worth the many thousands it cost me in finance. Sensibly used a loan with a much lower APR to clear the finance after 18 months of ownership, then later sold it to clear the remaining debt.

And yes, Seth's Herald estate was fantastic.

Back then I still had the Minor but had not yet found all the holes.....Camping out in a 4x4 Bedford CF ambulance, selling my 280SE (twat) and buying a W124 (twat).   Oh, and getting married.

I think I was driving this back then.

In 2005 I was 10, needless to say this will be a quick note on what my mammy and daddy were driving

Mother had a 2003 Shitroen C3 (still has it now)

Dad had a Silver Vauxhall Zafira (died last year and was replaced with a 2004 Yaris)

Started the year selling my ailing xj40 to a banger racer. nearly swapped my almost new discovery 2 for an early flat floor e type coupe. Gunmetal and red leather. So near yet so far. Got a house, got a 2cv, chopped the disco in for a cheaper new civic type r, then then turned my back on new cars for good, bought a rusty and decrepit but motd jaguar xj12 off my next door neighbour and havent looked back!
