That's a shame, i was following his build thread with interest as It was one of my favourite cars over on the blue, I know he had a lot of issues mechanically with it.

He's a bit cursed is Phil when it comes to cars. He's built many really cool cars that have just blown up or turned out to be total rot boxes just as he finished. He bought that white SD1, recommisioned it and on it's first journey it blew the headgasket. He got that done and when they put the head back on they didn't time it properly so it munched some valves. I know he then started the Supra engine conversion (which would have been awesome) but I dunno what went wrong from there. He also had a very nice wide bodied MGB sebring replica he'd done loads of cool stuff to, which turned out to be rotten or had some other catastophic failure.

 

He was after me to sell him the SD1 back as it's the only car he's had that historically didn't blow up over the year he ran it. He replaced loads of stuff of mine with brand new items, rebushed it all, shocks. springs which is why was worth the effort when I found it was rotten.
