Dealer Special Shite

I know at least on saxo/106s  they slide back if you keep winding, and my mate had a 309 which had a flipping vacuum sealed sunroof where the rubber would pump up once it was closed, I'm 99% sure that slide back as well.

Did they slide back above the roof though and glass still visible rather than slide between the headlining and roof skin so the glass wasnt visible when slid back?

I think all Fiestas upto and including mk5 only had tilt sunroofs too even from factory.

I had a 206 with a factory electric sunroof and it only slid not tilted, it was on kinda rails which ran the entire length of the roof, that thing was strange and enormous. Although it did at least have the correct headliner with sun blind unlike those dealer special tilt ones.

Just thought of another dealer special, the Ford Ka "Klass" it was the base model Ka with no central locking or electric windows, the Ka 1 possibly, but the dealer had had the seats retrimmed in black leather. Sold by First Ford of Paisley, Glasgow, Greenock, East Kilbride, Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch (an amalgamation of Clanford, Wylies, Alexander's, Premier Ford and Strathford dealers)

Yeah the Peugeot vacuum sealed sunroofs usually slide down the outside of the roof on rails. No loss of headroom that way.

I had a Mk3 Xr2i back in the day and that was a tilt only sunroof which was factory fitted but you could actually pop the glass out and store it in the boot.

Same with the mk2,there were elasticated straps in the boot to hold it in place while it was out.

It was the same design as the XR2 roof as I also had one of those but on my particular mk2 I wouldn't of wished to try and take the roof out as on mine the pillars were so rotten I think the roof would have caved in.

The glass was the only bit of the car with wasn't rusty.

That aint a dealer special though,i know the sport parts were supplied non fitted, but that's  how vauxhall supplied them.

Negative. That's how G.M. Dealer Sport supplied them. Company within the company.

Hands up who remembers those godawful Swithland Motors TV ads in the mid-80s, featuring a nerdy guy ("Wally") and some scantily-clad bird with big knockers (might've been Sam Fox, come to think of it)?

Amateurishly peddling such gems as a Yugo 45A "Swan", IIRC.

"Swithland Motors, Wally"

Clearly no strangers to shite dealer editions before the business collapsed (due to "fraudulent trading"):
