Renault Safrane?

When did you last see a K reg!

Only 4 V6 RXEs left on the road i own 2 of them....

I know HML say 6 but its wrong and hasn,t been adjusted.

Why not put the model names with your photos?,not all these cars are identifiable to everyone who reads this thread.

As for Vauxhall Chevettes,i'd not seen one on the road for a few years then i spotted 2 recentley, also there was a few of them on display at the recent Raby Castle vintage vehicle show.

Cant be many Hyundai Stellars left now.

In my book extinct means "completely gone" so a Tagora or ARNA with SORN examples don't count as extinct cars

ex·tinct

2. no longer in use; obsolete: an extinct custom.

Certainly DOES apply to a Tagora or ARNA with SORN examples.

ex·tinct
[ik-stingkt] adjective

1. no longer in existence; that has ended or died out:

Boobydoo's Tagoras are still in existence I hope and definitely not ended or died out. So Tagoras aren't extinct

Would the phrase 'virtually extinct' be acceptable, so we can move on from this tedious semantic bollocks?

Much obliged...

That's why I referred to the second meaning of the word 'extinct':

2. no longer in use; obsolete: an extinct custom.

And according to this, they are.

Please note: The word means both of this at the same time.

Don't ever recall Shitsubishi doing a green one (I used to work for Shitsubishi hence my fascination with the marque) So yes please get a picture as i'm intrigued.

You sir are in luck - it was parked outside one of my work places this morning!

In the disabled spot outside the old folks home, naturally.

But that's more turquoiseish than green, to keep the pettifoggery of this thread intact.

When did you guys last see one of those?

Simca 1501 Special

Its deffo green, the colour didn't come out well in the photo.

I think one of the Admins (where are they?) - Mr H Sceptre had one of those Simcas.

Saw one of those (in that colour no less) at the Retro Rides Gathering

That's because it's the same car.  Originally a Sheffield/Rotherham car it used to be a regular attendee at RR and Motornutz meet but was sold earlier this year.  Sitting on MR2 alloys that actually suit it really well.

Have we mentioned the Citroen BX yet?

Hates garages; sadly, loves scrapyards...

Never that common in the first place, but getting close to single figures now...

I had one in this colour in 1983 - 1984. Loved it. A forerunner to the Passat. Scrapped it after a year of troublesome motoring. Wish Id kept it now.

If we are going down to model detail, then there are a few candidates in the XJ40 range that are nearly dodo status. This info is derived from production records and specific JDHT/DVLA enquiries. HML can't really help due to inaccuracies.

There is 1 sole surviving Daimler 4.0 Majestic Insignia (that's the LWB) remaining in UK. It is in good hands, so unless it is nicked or smashed into, it should be around for a while

There are 0 surviving Daimler Double Six Majestic Insignia left. The last one left for Norway many years ago.

There are only 4 Jaguar XJ12 Majestics that could still possibly exist - this is another serious dodo candidate.

There was only 1 Jaguar XJ12 Base spec Majestic Insignia ever sold in UK. Weird car - sold in non-Sovereign spec, but had thousands spent on Insignia options. 99% sure this is now dead. Another dodo

I am 99% sure that there are no surviving Jaguar 3.2 Sovereign Majestics remaining. There are 1 known example of each 3.2 Insignia and 3.2 Sovereign Majestic remaining, but they keep swapping private registration numbers each time they change hands so keeping track of them is getting difficult. 2 more potential dodos I think.

The sole remaining Jaguar 4.0 Base spec Majestic is most likely dead now (ex police Commissioner's car)

There is one Jaguar 4.0 S Insignia remaining in glorious Peppermint Green. Expect it to be another dodo when the inevitable big bodywork bills come in...

So, a few dodos there, but probably a bit too model specific to count.

This also is a sole known survivor:

Armstrong-Siddeley Sapphire LWB cab-chassis delivered to external coachbuilders.

3 were made according to factory records. One was banger raced in 2006 (don't start it!) and the fate of the 3rd one is unknown.
