Renishaw Hall Show 2013 - Retro Update 24/01/2014

What an excellent and diverse selection, I particularly like the contrast between the Landie and the DS. These more informal shows where there's no attempt to segregate things into classes and cars come and go all day are always more enjoyable as you never know what you might see next and there's always something new arriving.

I was there last summer. Really was a good show. My personal favourite was that Citroen SM which was an absolute beauty. Wondering now if my motor 'made the cut' in the Retro section. We'll wait and see...

rekord is a taunus coupe (P7 I think) the black back panel on the green mk 1 4dr escoet denotes it as an XL. must repaint the grille on my GT. this is a great show on a wed eve in june.

Picture time!  This time it's the 'Retro' section which contains some stuff that could also be considered Modern and some that is probably Classic.  You'll just have to deal with that.

I don't actually know what this is.

Feeeeeegaro.  I like these and I'm not afraid to admit it, but those wheel trims are hideous and not original.

20130612-249.jpg

Driven daily, local car.

20130612-250.jpg

Tidy Landrover.  I think it was a Davrian Imp on the trailer, not 100% sure on that.

20130612-251.jpg

THIS IS AUTOSHITE.

Another Ital, this one with those ace wheel trims.

Scale down the number plate to make your car look bigger/further away.

Am I right in thinking these are mostly plastic?

That other Metro I mentioned, here it is (shhh, ignore the number plates).

There was a prize for the car of the show, a sort of visitors' pick deal.  I voted for this one, I don't think I need to explain why.

Shiny expensive looking things kept parking next to me during the show.  It amused me.

Sounded great, looked great, but also seemed really out of place.  Didn't seem to stay long either so I didn't get a good nose around it.

AUTOSHITE ALL UP IN YOUR SHOW.

Some fantastic spots here :)

Ginetta G4. Or to be more exact (going by the recent looking plate) one of the continuations made by Dare (a company formed by the Walklett Brothers who originally founded Ginetta). Very nice it is too.

Here's an old Top Gear bit on the G4:

Thanks. It doesn't get used as much as it should. It's currently hibernating in a big inflatable bubble for the winter as it has the water reactive properties of an Alka Seltzer. Plus, the garage is currently taken up with this:

Wow, some amazing stuff there! I think that Ital is probably the first concours car in Champagne Beige I've ever seen, and it looks great. I'm genuinely surprised no one's had those 'Move over to Austin Rover' stickers reproduced, there must be the demand.

If you want a MK2 A40 I believe Ratdat is selling his, which of I remember he bought a few years ago from Torsten.
