Wanted - shiny old car audio

The car: 1984 Porsche 924

 

The budget: Dunno, about £50? Don't hurt me, I've just paid out for a new clutch.

 

The requirement: Something that would have been silvery and shiny for the time, must have cassette deck and radio. In my mind is something with soft touch buttons like an old video recorder, I used to have a hi-fi separates tape deck with it too.

 

This kind of thing has come up in Google images, but I don't even know what to look for on ebay searches.

 

 

 

 

Anyone got something suitable?

There's no one good category for old car radios on eBay, so search 'classic' and 'vintage' in the category EddyRR suggested, also try 'radio' in classic car parts, and also 'car' in vintage electronics (that usually turns up the priciest ones).

That would be a good choice coupled up to an amplifier. High end Pioneers and Clarions are worth a look as well.

 

If you want a really high end cassette deck, try looking for old Nakamichi car audio. Not sure if a £50 budget will stretch like, but I'll link some brochures anyway.

I've just taken an identical one out of mine which you are welcome to have, but the radio doesn't work anymore.

Bizarrely the cassette with all it's servos and what nots is perfect!

I just done an OMG at that Yoko unit with the black and white CRT in it. Find one of those immediately and buy it with MONEY.

Probably too new gareth but I think I still have the stereo from my old 1999 SEAT Ibiza. Not shiny but black plastic I believe it's a Grundig unit but it says 'SEAT' on it.
