Today I can officially announce I am the proud owner of BPV 307Y Bees in transit Jimp - again!

I've put a job out on Shiply out of interest, that would be the least stressful option, otherwise I'll TAX the FSO and A frame it (If Joe's still happy to lend me the A frame that is)

£295 cheapest so far, I'm thinking £150......... it IS possible if I can find someone who will bring it back on return trip.

Aye, you can borrow it again if you like.

Be patient while more/better Shiply offers come in. Last time I made a request (running but no T+T car from Worcestershire to up here), someone offered to do it for just £89(!) after about five days.

Aye the Style came via Shiply for £120 from Northampton

Have a look on gumtree too as once you discount the shitley fee's and so on it's much cheaper. I've found a lot of smaller transporters on Shitley also advertise on gumtree. When I got my Smart moved the best quote I got on Shitley was  £110 and the guy I finally got to do it off gumtree was £80.

Also dont forget to NOT do any deals through shitley due to them being robbing slags.

aye.... i found it hard to deal outside of Shiply last time, and hard to get the contact details of the people, they were all whining about being banned or summit.

Fuck Shiply man...... mind you £150 would be a fair price. had no budge on £295.

Let me calculate. 6 months Polonez tax £74 + Full tank there £50 + full tank back £50 = £174 plus I'd have 6 months tax and a story to tell!

last couple of things I listed on Shiply could have been delivered cheaper by cutting them up into foot size chunks and sending them special delivery!

The movers and shakers on there seem to be sticking to their guns on the high prices, or not even bothering to quote any more.

TBH I dont think it gets a lot of use anymore due to being a massive rip-off. A few years ago you'd get 10 quotes for every job, now you get maybe 2.

I'm actually starting to really like these. Quite tempted to make you an offer* for that black one.

Where in the world are you Kinnock?

I've been reminded that I am already +2 cars over my maximum allotted parking, also the nice unit you see belongs to BenjyP, the Jimp has to find it's way to Malham in the next couple of months.

I'm told the black one will need a lot of work, there is rot in the very simple steel frame that the rear hardback attaches to. The chassis are galvanised on Jimps so it should be fine underneath. It has been sat ten years so will need basic recommissioning, non start due to faulty petrol pipes.

its in St Albans, Im in Yorkshire, that's the main problem for me really.

I have a proper grille for that in the top shed, therefore, you MUST have this one too, Edd! Do you reckon two would fit in the space remaining in the barn?

Once again, the A-frame is here waiting for your two Jimp missions, and I'm sure Will shall be pleased to help out. You know what a good* team that Will, Samara, and A-frame make!

Posted

Even I'm tempted by the black Jimp, but St Albans might as well be on the moon for all the help I could offer you in rescuing it.

My green Jimp has to go in that space in the barn! I wish I had somewhere to put it !!!!!

It was a pleasure to help you push it on to the trailer Sir. What an interesting day I had at the lock up meeting new [to me] faces, playing around with the Samara. I'd never seen a Jimp before, but certainly a worthy vehicle for this forum!

Glad you got back ok with the trailer :)

Great stuff. Has it got an engine in? If so, my advice is always have the engine at the front when towing. Better balance. Has to be a calendar pic though!

Is the black Jimp still availiable?
