Lankytim Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Hi gang. I've just bought an old clunker with a shitty NI plate on, It's 3 letters and 4 numbers. I don't like it and want to fook it off. Do these 'personal plates' have any value?
John F Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 They're worth half a licked Twix. If they spell out some chav's name i.e. BAZ, etc. then they're worth an entire Twix (licked).
messerschmitt owner Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 shove it on ebay with a 99p start and the transfer fee on top and see what happens!
hairnet Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 theyre only worth money with three numbers or less seen them on plate sites at 60 quid and transfer fee
Lankytim Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 TBH I just want a normal non-chavvy plate. I'd give it away to someone who would pay the fees.
lovejoy Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 " TIM 2013" perhaps.....? ( if, and IF, it's MXI 8888, then i'll offer you TWO Twixi plus an M&M for it, as I have the preceeding number on my NF75 Honda Rocket )

Lacquer Peel Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Paint a mural on the car, and pretend to be Northern Irish.
Lankytim Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 It's JIZ 8008. Just kidding. It's CJZ 1226.
Cavcraft Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 (GARY) COX JIZZES ZEALOUSY INSIDE 126 Ca$h money tonite not broken Simca
Lankytim Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 Hey maybe I could swap it for a perm and a back, sack and crack?
cort16 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 My For Four came with a private plate and I thought I'd check what it was worth incase it was harbouring the number off James Bond's DB5 or something (all be it this unlikely as the plate begins with L).I went on one of the valuation sites and a number very similiar to mine is up for £188. It'll just be staying on the car then.
Cavcraft Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Tbh it wouldn't matter if others were going for £1200, the plate trade is a crock of absolute bollocks. IMHO unless someone actually turns up with cash it's not even worth the transfer or retention fee.
