What are the physical differences between the 90 and 110 then? I thought it was just ECU mapping and maybe a bigger intercooler.

No intercooler on 90. Possibly some map differences also.

RG - it wouldn't happen to be a diesel with a dead autobox you have there would it? If so can I get more details, I may have a cunning plan :D

I can't remember now if its pez or diesel, I'll check tomorrow...

Quite a few of the internal gubbins too IIRC, and a different clutch.

injectors

turbo (ECU vacuum controlled on 110, mechanical wastegate on 90)

DMF on most 110 (but not Xantia) not on 90

gearbox I think, hydraulic clutch on 110 and cable on 90 maybe (again, Xantia could be different)

no intercooler on 90

I have a feeling that the 110 had a tougher crankshaft as well

ECU (mapping and wastegate control)

the 110 is nicer, and the Xantia is the best 110 of all due to not having the DMF of doom

I had the 16v 1.8 pez for about a year. Extremely comfortable, very reliable and all in all a very solid car, although it wasn't particularly economical for what it was. The hdi will have that solved!

used to have a Denzel 1.9 about 7 years ago. Never went wrong and it was the best car for blasting down the lanes in Devon. The smoothest ride this side of a Roller( didn't they copy the same suspension system)?

found this on flea bay which looks a bargain:

Hope the clicky link works!

I had a '93 diesel. I liked it but it suffered from rear tyres wearing on the inside probably due to worn rear arm bearings or bushes or something someone more knowledgable can tell you.

I own a 1995 2 litre auto, with 135K on the clock; it is, without doubt, the best car I have ever owned! It's still on its original catalytic converter, it's just passed the M.O.T. again, without any advisories and returns 35ish M.P.G. I load it to the hilt with stuff and it never complains and with the back seats down it will swallow anything! I've fitted a tow hook and regularly use it for towing other cars on an "A" frame and it never complains. The suspension is brilliant and once you understand how it works it's really quite simple! It cruises happily at well over the legal limit and "floats" along, thanks to the brilliant suspension!

I've owned it for about 4 years and it cost me £200, since when, apart from regular servicing and 4 new Michelin tyres it has had nothing else done to it. It's never let me down and I am of the opinion that most cathedrals are not built to the same high standard that this car is.

The ultimate accolade is this: quote from the current Mrs. H; "it's the only car in which I can put my makeup on at 100 mph on the M1"

In short, Citroen's best car since the DS21!
